A pretty low-end gym, but good because it's the cheapest in the area. A lot of the equipment is broken or just plain missing which honestly feels dangerous, and the wifi only works in part of the gym. But the worst thing is they keep the gym insanely warm, even in winter. I sweat as soon as I walk in! Which makes all the equipment sweaty and slippery whenever someone uses something. Maybe the AC needs a good clean or maybe they just don't use it. If not for the temperature I'd give this gym 4 or 5 stars. The other issues are tolerable for the cost but I feel like I can barely work out in the heat.

The front desk attendants are stellar and so nice. The facilities have gotten better since I’ve started my membership; I’m so happy to be in a well oiled, moving machine. I would suggest eucalyptus and/or lavender be used to for the steam room. It was broken for a while and there was a bad smell from it. It’s better now but could use more attention. Thank you to Charmaine for the classes and Lin for all of his expertise in regards to training sessions. I’m looking forward to starting with him after physical therapy. Thank you!

I have passport membership to NYSC, which means I can visit any club, the stuff at 73rd is unlike anywhere else, they are charming and friendly, the create an environment that’s a joy to work out in. I am lucky that the club is a block away

Update: Per your comment on my review from your "Response from the owner", I have sent you an email to the address you provided in addition to my phone number and am awaiting a response. I still have not received my credit and am waiting to see if my membership is finally cancelled after numerous calls, emails, and in person discussions at a club. It seems you leave these template comments both via Google Reviews and Yelp, but don't make good on them. I have been a member at the West 73rd Street site since 2007. I've experienced the decline of quality service delivered by the gym. It is currently at its worst. Machines have not been attended to since before the Pandemic and since the reopening during the Pandemic in Fall 2020. Some machines remain broken, others are missing pieces making it dangerous to use them, and some look like they need to be rebooted and would then work. In addition, the Women's Locker Room is filthy and the management was awful and is now non-existent. I froze my membership in June with the hopes that things would be changed after I spoke with Archie Westin who claimed to be a District Manager who was overseeing the gym on a temporary basis about my concerns. He promised me they were beginning to repair machines, etc., but it has never happened. Instead, what ensued was several weeks without air conditioning and cleaning supplies. After 15 years of membership, I finally cancelled in September following the directions of Thea Mercedes to email her the cancellation request. Well today, on October 1st, I was charged for the month of October after being told my membership was cancelled as of the end of September via an email confirmation from Thea Mercedes. Not only could nobody at the West 73rd Street site help me to fix this since they have no manager, but I learned the woman Thea who claimed to be the manager when I requested to cancel wasn't a manager. While she sent me an email stating my cancellation was confirmed, she never put through the cancellation or lifted my freeze to be able to properly cancel the membership. I went to the West 80th Street site to have them cancel this and refund my money for October. I spoke with Elhadji Amadou Johnson, General Manager. He sent me email confirmations about receiving a refund for my October freeze charge and that my membership would now be cancelled as of November 1. I have received no credit or response when I follow up with Mr. Johnson and Israel Chaparro, Regional District Manager, who Mr. Johnson copied on his email. I’ve followed up twice. At this point, I fear the membership still isn’t cancelled and they will continue to charge me. Also, they comment back on Google reviews and Yelp reviews, but when you email the address they give you so they may right the wrong, they don’t respond to you via email or call you. Shame on NYSC. If you aren't going to maintain a quality establishment then close it. You lost the most devoted of customers and I've taken my business elsewhere.
