Years ago I was a victim of identity thrft. Someone hacked my Navy Federal account and I'm not sure exactly what they did. I woke up to an alert saying thank you for making an external account. I called Navy Federal immediately. My account was closed. Today I went into the branch and tried to reopen my old account. I was told that I could after I get an alert off my account. They basically told me I could never return. After which I was the victim. Their security was compromised. They are treating me like the bad guy. No worries. After that a lot of my family pulled their money from this bank. This bank doesn't care about their members. It's not worth your peace of mind to open an account with this bank.

Nope, but I believe you need a member to refer you. Military members are the only ones who can walk in and join without a referral.
