My daughter participated in this years' Vacation Bible School. This church says that they "point souls to Christ." From what I saw this week the church rather points young children to toys, prizes, competition for who gives more money. My daughter enjoyed the camp very much and I wanted to understand what was so good about it. She then explained to me that she was working towards getting the big prizes on Friday. When Friday came, she saw all other kids come to pick up their prizes that ranged from bicycles, scooters, robots, and many other fancy things. She did not get anything. Sad she told me: I dont know why I did not get any prize - I prayed and prayed all week to get a prize and God did not listen to me. My response to her was that God does not give prizes, God gives us a kind heart to be happy whenever we see other kids happy and what is in our heart is more important than any motivation for a prize. How is this vacation bible camp pointing young souls to Christ? Someone explain to me because I do not get it!
