My heroes. I was about to pay $1300 at Subaru dealership for a key fob when my tow truck driver mentioned he takes a lot of people to Key Harbor near the Crabtree mall if I wanted to check it out. I really was wary of aftermarket keys and assumed that's what this was. As a single mom with two young kids, the last thing I need is a janky key fob but I called Key Harbor and they deal in OEM keys and I did not know that existed as I've never had this happen or really thought about it to be honest. Becka was super pleasant and reassuring, not cloying and salesy which I hate and she explained how it worked clearly. Trust was immediate. I was towed to Key Harbor instead. Pleasant little store front with cute key chains and fob covers. I was going to wait 24 hours to get the keys FedExed to her to program but she reached out to local vendors of her own accord after I left and after I expected to wait 24 hours to fix the problem - and someone happened to have 2 of my exact car keys in stock and within 2 hours I was back in my car and could pick my kids up at school. Key Harbor are GREEEATTTTTT! For $611 I have 2 new key fobs. (Luckily I did have the entry key to get inside my car - if you don't have that and they have to get into the car, that would have been a charge - just to be clear). But I didn't have to rent a car. Didn't have to Uber for a week (Subaru was going to take 4 or so days!). Saved me a TON of money!

Great Experience at Key Harbor! I applaud all of them for their hard work. I lost my key fob and did not have a spare, they managed to make a new key and by pass my security system which was was very tough! They worked on it for 2 days but they did not give up until my needs were met and they were finally able to program a brand new key fob for my Ford Fusion. So amazing love them highly recommend.

Avoid money grabbing dealership and support local! A little pricy but cheaper than dealerships. Didn't have master key for 4runner they were able to quickly reset whatever keeps codes and made two new master keys in under 20mins. A++++

60 for 1, 80 for 2 I believe.
Hi Greg, we will need to know more information about your vehicle to ensure that we can give you an accurate quote. Feel free to give us a call at 919-787-0823. We look forward to speaking with you.
Your typical key cutter does not have the technological capabilities to code your transponders, chips, and fobs. We at KeyHarbor pride ourselves on precise work and a passionate customer experience. We are cheaper and faster than your dealership.
Yes! As long as the picture clearly depicts the key cuts, we can replicate the key. Key duplication by photo service is reasonable, easy, and affordable. See the photography tips below to ensure you get an exact copy of the cuts: 1- Clean the key with a towel and rubbing alcohol. 2- Get good lighting by shining a light from behind the camera, pointing at the key 3- Snap away! Send a few pictures for the best results. Call us for any questions or clarifications (919) 787-0823
A Vehicle Identification Number is like a barcode. It’s a unique number that attaches a car to the name it is insured under. Any locksmith that makes modern smart keys and transponder code programmers can provide you with a new key from a VIN number. The locksmith will need both your VIN number and proof of ownership of the car. The dealership you purchased the car from can also do this, but the dealership is the more expensive route.
Any car key with push buttons needs to be programmed. KeyHarbor, near Crabtree Valley Mall, has the machinery and technology to cut you a new key and program it. Please, call us with any other questions you may have (919) 787-0823.
Yes! Please come able to provide the following information: -Your car’s make and model -Most importantly your car’s VIN number and proof of ownership. Older cars will typically be cheaper replacements, while newer models will be more expensive due to their tendency to have transponders, fobs, and chips.
Whether your insurance will cover your car key replacement or not depends on the type of insurance you have. For example, comprehensive coverage will typically cover key replacement costs. For more information please contact us (919) 787-0823. We would love to help you find the answers to any and all questions you may have.
