I have never had to speak to a collections company before, so I was VERY nervous to make a call to them, not knowing how it would go. When I called, the first person I spoke to (I cannot remember her name, I'm so sorry ma'am!), but she was very kind and patient with me. I had to settle a small $200 debt for my husband and told the representative the story. We tried to dispute the debt but received a letter that it couldn't be done unfortunately, so we decided to just deal with it and get it handled. We didn't want this to hurt my husband's credit report. The woman confirmed before transferring my call to the payment department that it will NOT impact my husband's credit and not show up on his credit report AT ALL, because we contacted them before that happens and we paid it in full. She said "It hasn't reached that far yet, you don't have to worry. It will NOT be put on his credit report at all." I had told her that I didn't want it marked "PAID", I wanted it to not be there at ALL. She said again that it wouldn't be. When transferred, I spoke to a very nice man named Mike who listened to me repeat the whole story and I made the payment with him. He gave me the confirmation number and I asked him as well to CONFIRM that this was NOT going to be marked on my husband's credit report, he assured me also that it had not reached that point and would not be put on the credit report, and told me if I have any concerns I can call the office and speak to someone and they'll help me. I will update my review if anything happens, but overall I'm very happy with the way I was treated over the phone by both of the people I spoke to. They were very polite, patient, and understanding with me, I was nervous and apprehensive to make the call but they made me feel a lot better. I'm glad I called the local Texas office instead of the toll free number.
