Went to get my car registration and the young lady at window 11 who helped me was SO pleasant. The wait was not bad either, was in and out in less than an hour and a half.

The Voter Registrar counter was the best. I’m registered at my new address to be eligible to vote in Texas’ primary elections on March 1st this year!

Yes you can
Hello C Jones. It depends on what you are trying to do. Everything except vehicle registration if you want to attend in person, will require an appointment. At last check they are 2-3 weeks out scheduling wise. If you are doing a vehicle registration/renewal, you can drop off a copy of you insurance, a copy of the inspection certificate, and a check or money order for the total. Your sticker is usually ready by the following day. There is a USPS right near there that can do the money order for less than 2 bucks if you don't have access to checks. I am told the food town nearby can as well. Even with the drop off process, depending on the time of day, you can expect to wait in line for 20 minutes or more. Also, the line is usually out the door so bring a drink, and prepare for the weather. A mask is also required to enter the building.
https://www.hctax.net/Auto/Appointments/Appointment It appears they are only taking appointments for title transfers and new residents.
I dont think so cuz they ask for an ID. U can renew at HEB too not just the tax office
I went a couple weeks ago and was turned away because they said I needed an appointment
Yes, but you need an appointment. You can also use an old invoice with your account number and mail the payment or pay online. https://www.hctax.net/Property/Appointments/Appointment
Mailing (certified) is probably the best way for now. Appointments are booked up for almost a month.
Depends on what you're trying to do

I'd have the paperwork just in case they need it for the renewal. Usually you need it to certify that you have a need for the placard.
