Mom was treated at Fair Oaks for 2 weeks following 2 weeks in the hospital. Mom received the absolute kindest care with expertise tailored to her needs in speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, and medical. We were reassured through the staff of Mom’s status as she worked to gain strength to come home. We highly recommend Fair Oaks.

Under new management. They practice profit over people on a daily basis. The original staff has been dismantled to hire cheaper employees. If you have a loved one here, be a strong advocate!! ***I am adding to my review due to the lame response received by the owner. Instead of admitting to any problems within the facility, all concerns were explained away. Let’s start with the statement the owner made regarding the fierce competition for staff. Yes, competition is fierce. What he failed to mention is that full time positions have been eliminated at Fair Oaks, with corporate expecting the remaining staff to pick up the slack. Fair Oaks has recently lost 9 employees with 125 years of combined commitment, dedication, and service to Fair Oaks. The work load is putting the residents at risk and the nurses in fear of losing their licenses. The “excellent” new administrator you mention in your response, tells the staff to deal with it or resign. She demands that staff not discuss their wages amongst each other and tells one employee one thing, and another employee another thing. She doesn’t believe that staff needs proper training, personally taking in an admission with no training, causing a serious medication error. We have very different ideas on what makes a great administrator. If your plan was not to get cheaper staff into the building, what was it? You’re hiring people that are expected to do the job of 2 people at the pay rate of 1 employee. This is where profit over people comes in. The residents are NOT being well taken care of, at no fault of the physically and mentally exhausted employees. They are struggling and doing their very best. The employees have stated over and over that they are unable to properly care for the residents, frequently in tears. You recently requested that the employees fill out an “anonymous” questionnaire on how to get new staff into the building and how to retain current staff. I acknowledge that you did not like my answers. Instead of taking my responses to heart, you terminated me 1 week after it was submitted. After 20+ years of service I was fired. If you’re trying to retain staff you’re doing it wrong but, I think you know that. Make no mistake. My allegiance is NOT to Fair Oaks, but to the residents and people in this community. Everyone inside of Fair Oaks and outside of Fair Oaks knows that I care very little about money. I have a mad passion to protect the most vulnerable, and that’s what this review is about. Maybe I’m misunderstanding non-profit. Should extra cash go to the resident’s care or to the corporate staff’s bonuses and trips? Stop making excuses and fix what is terribly broken. What once used to be a beautiful home-like environment, is now depressing and dismal.

My Mom came to Fair Oaks Healthcare Center for rehabilitation after falling ill with various health conditions. The staff worked diligently with Mom; from the admissions, nurses, physical therapy, occupationall therapy, speech therapy, housekeeping, dietary, social worker and many others who encountered with her. I truly appreciate all the staff who helped and encouraged my Mom healing process. She is doing better comparison of when she first was admitted. My Mom and myself cannot thank you enough.

My husband had such a good stay at your facility! He is a 'tough customer' yet everyone was so patient and kind with him despite his stubbornness. That was very much appreciated! From day one we found the staff to be kind, caring, flexible, knowledgeable and helpful. Then the 'hands-on' staff such as nurses/CNA's/RNs/therapists - WOW!! Great group here! It's easy to see why many employees have stayed there many years - 4 years to over 40 years!! Larry, Julio, Mary - most all CNA's work so hard but LOVE what they do and show it. Warm, friendly, willing to do any job asked of them! (When I asked Larry why he didn't try to become a nurse - he said he enjoys all the interactions with the patients and as a nurse - there is not as much of that! (Now that's a guy who loves people and what he does!) Also the food was FANTASTIC!! We joked that we'd like to come back just for the delicious meals!! The nurses also were terrific - Nick, Nancy, Joe - so kind and quick to assist! Joe. the PA (or NP), was also most helpful, personable and a great listener. Activities folks were always busy working with patients and making them smile! Kelly & Kris were two and I believe Renee also. The facility is smaller than some but we felt that was an advantage as he was well cared for - always timely actions - cleaning/food/meds/call button/maintenance - - it was really such a good experience despite the difficult nature of the visit. He previously stayed at another facility for 5 weeks and those were disappointing weeks and sadly were part of the reason he would ONLY stay at Fair Oaks two weeks - how I wish he'd have stayed longer as he surely benefitted from the time he was there! KUDOS to Robin, Chrisse, Tracy - too many to mention but again - sincere thanks for helping us! Rehab was also very good! Susan, Brittney, Mariscel - - - all really dedicated employees that care and work so well with patients!! Sincere thanks!!

My mom was there on 2 occasions. And even though the main doors will lock at 8 p.m., the north entrance is open 24 hours a day, you just need to be buzzed in. I understand that family pets are allowed to visit as well, you just need to bring proof that the animals are up on all their shots.
