While I have yet to request counseling for my grandson, I did read through the "15 Signs of Childhood Anxiety and How to Help." The mood chart is helpful, but asking a 2 year old about his anxiety is not going to elicit much response. Most of the signs seem geared more toward children who are in school and who can verbalize their feelings. When I observe him getting anxious, I do take a moment to hug him, look him in the eyes, and tell him what I am doing to help him feel better. That usually works.

Lydia Alter is an extremely compassionate therapist who takes the time to listen without judgement. Humble, kind, and welcoming, she invites everyone she meets with open arms. She takes the time to get to know you, to understand what you need, and to give you the tools and resources you need to be your best. I highly recommend Lydia to anyone looking for extra therapy support.

Do you accept insurance

Hi Adam! Thank you for asking! We are a private-pay (also known as self-pay) so payment is due at the time of service. We do, however, upon request, provide a super-bill for families who want to utilize their insurance to submit to their provider for potential reimbursiement. We have had families receive 100% reimbursement to 0%. It just depends on your insurance plan. We are health care providers so you are able to use an FSA or HSA account to pay for services. We have a webpage dedicated to this very question here: https://kidmatterscounseling.com/paying-for-services/ Thank you for asking!

Great question! We are not in-network with Medicaid but we do offer a sliding scale fee for qualified applicants.
