Went on Sunday after a day of swimming and when we arrived we told the server there was six of us. Her and the other server seemed annoyed and rolled there eyes like it was to much trouble. Then another group came in after us and one of them told them they were gonna have to wait because she was dealing with one group already. Seriously you had no other groups In there and it seemed like a huge inconvenience for you both. So we ended up leaving since that was to much trouble and one server said “good” I mean if you’re that bitter and can’t have a professional customer service attitude don’t work there.

Hopelessly Dull

I was on vacation in the area 9 months ago, was thinking fondly of the trip, remembered this place and that I forgot to leave a review. That's how good it was. I grew up in Austin frequenting Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants my whole life so I don't say this lightly: All of the food was good, but those were the best red enchiladas I've ever had in my life. The atmosphere is like you're eating at your one Tía's house that is always cooking for someone. We did have to wait a while for service, but they were busy the night we were there with several large groups. I would give 4 stars on that, but seeing all the absolutely rude and unfair 1 star reviews, I gave them 5 because they deserve better. If you're in town for the spring or even an hour drive away, it's definitely worth it. Maybe come when they're slower, though.

Are you searching for a good Tex-Mex meal while driving Inerstate 10 around Balmorhea? This is a great choice after a swim in the cold water at Balmorhea springs. My favorites are the chunky guacamole and the cheese chili relleno plate. Prices are moderate and service is friendly. The chips and salsa are on the house. Off the beaten path and worth the drive.

Visited after diving in Balmorhea State Park. The food was pretty good, but then I ordered the tamales. They were very good!! Some of the best I have had in long time. Staff were friendly and the nickname of the "Cutest Restaurant" is well deserved.

Sometimes it is mild and sometimes it is not! The waitress told us it depends how mad the cook is. The food is really good here just taste a little salsa before you use it.
