8:39pm - Sat. Oct 15th Karen, the older black woman working self check out gave me and my friend the hardest time checking out, and was unnecessarily rude. We shopped and headed to the first register on the right where we allowed a person to go into front of us while my friend stopped to decide another form of payment before scanning the groceries because Karen said that "the machine weren't TAKING cash". We scanned the groceries, paid with a debit card and the machine allowed her to select getting $40 cash back. The machine processed the payment for the groceries but stopped, not being able to release the $40 cash back. An honest mistake made. But we asked Karen for help and explained what happened only for Karen to be condensing repeatedly saying "I already told you that but I already told you that" switching her words from "this machine isn't taking money" to "this machine is GIVING money back". My friend being a little agitated at the lack of help from Karen; Karen then tries to turn the tables back on my friend, saying that she was being rude. Karen tried to call security on my friend for walking towards the front door with her PAID FOR groceries. Out of the three of us, I tried to be the most level-headed and decided ask the security guard for "the guy in the gray shirt, who appeared to be the manager". I walked the store to find the manager and found Sean back in the dairy section. I stopped and explained to Sean what happened and that we just needed a receipt for proof that 1. The groceries were paid for. (The payment was accepted) 2. That she was owed $40 cashback 3. And hopefully have a smooth transition the next day when customer care is open to receive the cashback. I walked behind him back to the register. He approached the register and asked Karen if the machine could print a receipt, she then sharply cuts Sean off and said the machine is frozen. "I am the only one here, I am the manager and they are gonna have to come back tomorrow". Completely unprofessional. We frequent this Kroger location OFTEN, coming from Wilmer specially for the fish selction. Neither of y'all appreciate the way we were treated and the lack of customer service. It was embarrassing! This will be our final time shopping at the Camp Wisdom location. This was a simple mistake that could have been resolved by saying "ma'am, unfortunately as I have stated this machine isn't taking cash and cashback isn't available" but she insisted on being snarly and trying to get us in trouble with security. My friend took a picture of the transaction left on the screen to show to customer care tomorrow (Oct 16th) but I felt it was imperative to get extra professional proof of purchase. The picture is a hand written note from Sean, the floor supervisor that was written standing next to the security guard.

Worst service ever!! Unprofessional night service. Long lines and just 3 self checkout registers open. A male customer was trying to check out at the self checkout, spent more than 3 minutes struggling with the register and the lady in charge of the registers didn't tell him that the register wasn't working and she was looking at him the entire time without saying anything. The security girl ( she assisted him )told him that the register wasn't working. The service at Kroger was better after hours. Very disappointing. I left without buying anything.
