Park has been around since I was a kid. Back in the day even had a zoo. The old train wasn't fenced and you could climb up and ring the bell. Then they closed off the cab, later adding the fence, eventually locking the gate. The park is still a nice place to walk and play disc golf during the week. Alas, like so many other public venues in Shreveport, the train is run down and usually swamped with vines and grass that could easily be remedied with a weedeater. The playground equipment is also broken and run down. If you walk the small side you will see a couple picnic tables in the water a good distance from shoreline. At one time there was a swimming area that, like the rest of the city, eroded to oblivion. It's quite a shame what has become of Shreveport. All that money from casinos, property sales, and the Haynesville Shale must have gone into someone's back pocket because it sure didn't go into education or improvements.

Playground is not open yet and not sure about entry fee
Last I knew the park was closed... I was there last week. I am not sure if they opened it up but to my knowledge they no longer have a swimming area there.
I don't think they allow RV parking. The park gate is locked sundown til Dawn.
Well I don't know exactly what you mean but I'm sure you can
Call SPAR Office, they maintain the grounds
