I was unfortunately a victim of Dr. Smith. I had a back problem in the mid 2000's, saw an add on T.V., made an appointment. This guy is a fast talking con man. He convinced me that he could do a surgical implant on me and everything would be fine. Why? Cause he tells the same BS to every patient. I found out, like most of his patients, it's all about the money! This doctor is running what's called a surgical warehouse. Do as many surgeries as you can, so you can make as much money as you can . Once he get's his insurance money, he could care less about you, on to the next victim. I think he collected about $65000.00 from my insurance, all that for about a one hour operation. I was happy i survived the operation, the implant he put in was taken off the market after 5 years, because it was defective. There office , like most people have said is a over crowded nightmare. The staff was mostly 18 and 19 year old kids, who didn't have a clue what they were doing. Very poorly run and managed office. Honestly, it's one of the worst i have every seen. So, like a lot of his ex patients i suffer more now than i ever did including, pain, depression, anxiety, PTSD. I had to stop work, at a job i had for more than 12 years, go on SS disability. And do you think they care? Not a chance, i was told, Oh, well we don't care about you, we have a lot of patients, and if you don't like it you can go some place else. Really sad, shocking and pathetic. If you read these words, do yourself a favor and stay far away from these medical predators . This doctor and his staff are brainless and spineless, liars and monsters .

Dr Kaplan and Ryan are the best I have encounted throughout my multiple surgeries. His staff can be abrupt but are extremely busy and are very good once you get to know them. I have witnessed patients caregivers being quite rude/demanding and the staff will not tolerate it as some of the reviews show. I will say this, I do not chose my sugeons based on their staff I chose them on their competency and a "rude" staff member will not deter me from chosing the best surgeon possible.

Michelle, the staff member for Dr. Kaplan, is the RUDEST, MOST UNPROFESSIONAL employee I have ever encountered. From the moment I stepped forward to say I have an appointment for Dr. Kaplan she was unfriendly and gave me an attitude the entire duration of my wait time (I sat there for over an hour). She purposely put aside my clipboard/tablet on the side while taking in other patients that came after me without acknowledging my finished paperwork. There was no courtesy or decent basic customer dialogue that the doctor will be with me as soon as time permits. She is ill-mannered and poorly trained to be in customer service. It's unfortunate and ridiculous to have someone in such a low caliber to be representing a medical facility that helps people with the most serious injuries. What Michelle neglect to realize is she is hired to assist men and women who are suffering and dealing with pain that is debilitating. You would think an ounce of compassion, grace, and empathy would be demonstrated. Needless to say this woman should not be allowed to continue to be employed in this facility. This was completely unacceptable experience and will not bother to reschedule or definitely not recommend.
