Most condescending and arrogant doctor I have ever seen. Dr Owens started the consult with 15 minutes of lecturing and accusations. Falsely accused me of feeding my dog chicken and rice…because I’m Hispanic? Then he said I’m Mexican? Not all Hispanics are Mexican. Said I should be buying expensive dog food from a pet store and not Purina. However, there are Purina promotionals in his exam room! When I asked about a product I’ve read about online he said “so now you are the doctor, stop googling and ask me.” Said my pet had diabetes and would need insulin before he even did the exam! $1000 later for exam x-ray and bloodwork, found my dog needs surgery to have spleen removed. Not diabetes. Surgery is said to cost about $7000. Took my baby home in order to figure out how we can find funds. Requested medicine for his pain in the meantime. Doctor said “No because it will make his condition worse”. Seriously?! This is the type of compassion he will show towards your animal. Remember, how he treats you is a reflection on how he will treat your baby. This doctor needs a lesson in humility and kindness. Please don’t take your baby to this clinic. Response to owner’s response: First of all, Dr. Owens, you did not ask me what I was feeding him when you told me to stop feeding him chicken and rice. Second, you had not performed any tests on him when you told me he had diabetes and would need insulin. Third, when we told you we must go home and figure out finances, we asked for medicine for pain in the meantime. You showed no compassion and sent him home with nothing. You have no right to bully owners for procedures that they cannot afford off the cuff! You bully your customers and send the animals home with no medicine. We did opt for payments on the $500 balance spent on x-rays and bloodwork but paid $500 cash for the other half. For the surgery, we will NOT be financing it through your clinic. You are not kind during visits, you are condescending and show truly no concern for the animal. You say you care, but you do not. THIS is the feeling that you convey. Judging from the reviews here, the sentiment is shared by many many many other pet owners who have come through this clinic.

Dr. Owen and his staff are wonderful. He really took his time to explain everything and all our options. Very caring and compassionate

You know what?! I changed my review to 1 star. I felt like I was being extorted today. Last time I was here almost 2 months ago they did tons of tests, blood work, stool samples, and special test, x-rays, and sedation that ended up at 1100$. Today I went in and they wouldn't even assess him without sedation and he would need x-rays too, guess how much that would be? Just for an exam, xrays and sedation?! You guessed it! Another 1100$!!!!! Yay me???? How does sedation and and exam with x-rays cost the same as like 6 tests, blood tests, sedation and x-rays? I honestly have no clue. I'm really baffled and I just don't understand. Absolutely ridiculously expensive. Do NOT bring your pet here unless you're rich rich.
