I was scheduled to attend an afternoon event in a nearby town and needed to spend one night in a hotel before driving back to Philadelphia. The Anthracite seemed nice and I didn't mind the price, although not inexpensive, for a Saturday night in summer season. I checked in, had a light and pleasant dinner on the terrace (the wait staff was very nice), and returned to my room (room was clean and comfortable, except for stained carpet). I went to bed at 11 pm and was woken up a couple hours later by a party. Loud talking, shrieking and laughing, kids running up and down the halls and into and out of a couple of the rooms....I finally called the front desk at 2:30 am and eventually it quieted down. I barely got any sleep. When I went to get coffee in the morning, there was a large pile of discarded Domino Pizza boxes in the coffee room, plus a case of empty Bud cans. (I overheard two cleaning staff members talking about it who expressed consternation). I asked the front desk if that type of party in the hotel was commonplace. Front desk said there were two wedding parties and that the weekends were often noisy. Barely an apology; more of a shrug. I spent $250 with the expectation of not only getting a bed in a room, but actually getting some sleep. Is this not the primary function of a hotel? Instead it seemed I was expected to understand that the presence of a wedding party made my expectation of a good night's sleep a very low priority, take it or leave it. Further, I find it extremely surprising that the hotel would allow a group to take over a public room of the hotel, in full sight of the front desk, to consume alcohol brought in from an outside source. Certainly, if was the same kids that ended up partying on the 3rd floor, they didn't look old enought to legally consume alcohol. Then again, at 2:30 in the morning, I was seeing red and not checking I.D.'s. A sincere apology from the front desk would have really been appreciated. Instead, there was no sense of concern whatsoever. Either the product of apathy or lack of professional training, I'm not sure which.

This hotel is clean and spacious. The staff is very polite and helpful. They have the best complimentary breakfast ever. There are plenty of parking in the garage or top deck. There are restaurants within 5 mins of a drive and a couple of shops within walking distance. Overall a great stay. 10 out of 10.

The rooms here are not cheap so going in you expect some basic things. we pulled into the covered garage and right off you see what you're in for. The parking lot is dirty, and you have to make your way avoiding piles of debris and puddles. carry your luggage as you will regret using the wheels. There is a cute courtyard and at first glance upon entering you think OK this is better. Then you see the lack of pride and upkeep. At check-in you will notice damaged walls that need repair and painting. Next you notice the tacky hand written sign offering to sell you booze out of a small fridge. Very nice staff (the reason for two stars). The trip to our room revealed many more opportunities for repairs to walls and very stained corridor carpets. The room was large...no real complaints...well except of course that as we went to sleep trains pulled in and there was a rarely interrupted rumble and shaking all night long. In the morning we found out that room service for breakfast was COVID cancelled. Please stop using COVID as an excuse for poor service. My wife had noticed when we made the reservation that there was a cafe so she said go down and get us something...folks...cafe?....a Keurig on a counter with two kinds of decaf and one choice of reg coffee. This does not qualify as a cafe. We had a nice breakfast at a nearby restaurant and got the heck out of there. Update. Removed a star for staff because owner response was terrible. The garage was not well maintained. The not a cafe cafe never had pastries in it. Those were at the restaurant bar and consisted of two muffins, one danish and a few donuts. Several others and myself made comments and turned right around. Lastly you avoided answering some of my complaints...but I will say I'm glad to here you don't consider the cafe a cafe either...the canary lounge it is. I did leave out that the restaurant is very good. It was hard to get bread and the tables for two are weirdly long so you are uncomfortably far from your dining companion but there is a lot of space between you to pile up used dishes that no one clears away...having said that the food is great and in the end that's what you're there for.

I don't remember
Not that I've seen. Maybe give them a call.
I would call them, as Google maps is not a direct link to the hotel staff.
