This place is in need of some major updates! Bathrooms stalls without doors or locks so only 2 were functional and those had water on the floor. Gross and really rediculous that these fixes have not been made. The actual auditorium is OK, but be prepared for lots of stairs as handicap accessibility is minimal at best. Large dressing rooms are nice for dance competitions but bathrooms need to be addressed.

Why in the world would you save this building? 2500 seats, every one behind a support post, horrible acoustics, and not a great location for parking. I remember the AC being completely inadequate in the 1960s and 1970s, modern complaints about it say it needs repair. It was always sub standard. Ditto for the bathrooms. Remember folks, this building with its horrible shortcomings is the reason why the Shuster Center was built. After all the great theaters that were lost in Dayton, why bother with this one. We lost the Keith's (RKO), Lowes (Palace) and the Victory (saving the facade is not a restoration). I put hundreds of hours of volunteer time into saving the Victory, and they tear it down and yet they save this? Perhaps the lobby is worth saving, if you can make it reasonably accessible and find a use for it, but the auditorium has no conceivable reason why it should remain standing.

Nice venue for events. We actually stopped here while working our way through the Dayton History Trail during our Ohio TuesDayTrips adventure. The historical significance was boxing. Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis as well as Muhammad Ali were all here.
