I want to take a minute to brag on the Scott County Animal Shelter. For starters it is the CLEANEST Animal shelter that I have ever been in. And you are welcomed from the moment you open the front door. But this wonderful group of people made my broken hearted mother happy again. She has been so sad since her last dog passed away of old age Three years ago. So you all made her so so happy by helping us with the adoption of that little dog. And that means the world to me! So, If you are interested in adopting a pet this place will take care of you. 🙂🙂🙂

I don't have anything but pure respect and appreciation for all their help. From my online "I'm interested in logan" till my car door closed with Logan by my side. They answered my email almost immediately. Took every phone call I made to them <none of the I will get back with you> they were the only ones who actually did. So thank you ALL for everything and for all your hard work!!

Staff is exceptionally rude and nosy, the terminally diabetic man responsible for approving/denying adoption applications thoroughly believes himself to be a Blue Bloods detective. You are in fact better off lying on the adoption form, and I highly recommend you do so on every part of it you possibly can. I did still obtain the animal I sought to adopt, but only because I sent someone else in on my behalf, who then gave the animal to me. This was quite some time ago, about a year, but I doubt things have changed, more so if the same person still works there. You can't miss him, trust me, you'd have to be blind. They also lie about being a no kill shelter, or at least they did to me. They aren't, and if you surrender a pet to them they will probably euthanize it. So just don't. Either way, I've had the animal for about a year now, sleeps with me every night. Little booger was a pain to adopt thanks to the jerk behind the counter, but I'm still glad I went through the annoyance of sending in a friend to adopt for me. Exceptionally concerned with invading your privacy, it's the type of behavior that sends people to the mills, just so they don't have to deal with the hassle of a shelters invasive investigations.

The employees here are awesome! Very helpful & the dogs loved it when we came to play with them! There's a nice yard to take the dogs to so they can get some exercise too! We will be back!

I have a stray mother cat and her kitten. I can't keep them. I was just feeding them until the kitten can eat food on its own. It is doing that now. Should I just take them to the animal shelter?
