The lifespan of your roof for the most part is dependent on the lifespan of the paint on it. Mostly metal oxides and finishes fade the quickest compared to more earthy tones. Earthy tones include shades of brown, green, and beige, these colors of metal roofing fade the slowest resulting in a longer lifespan.
Metal roofing does not affect your WiFi signal as well as not interfering with cell reception.
When you factor in price and lifespan, steel roofing is the cheapest option for your roof to last the longest. Most steel roofing manufacturers offer the longest warranty coverage compared to other metal roofing options.
There are many types of roofing choices to go with such as, copper aluminium, zinc, tin, steel, and shingle roofs. The most traditional roofing job is done with shingles, what if I told you it isn’t the best option. Steel roofing is the best roofing material to last the longest for your dollar.
This is often dependent on the location of the building and if it gets a lot of wind, snow, etc. However, I would never recommend anything less than 28 gauge for anything on the exterior of a building. And be sure that this is 28 gauge BEFORE paint, as this is very important.
Actually, metal roofing can do the opposite. Metal reflects sunlight much better than shingles do, keeping your house cooler in the summer. In addition, it traps heat in better than traditional roofing, meaning your house stays warmer in the winter also.
Most paints are warrantied for 40+ years, but if propertly maintained the metal itself can outlast the paint by many decades.
Although some local building codes require that you remove old shingles before placing steel roofing onto your building, it is possible. It cuts some cost off the job, but it is not recommended.
The largest deterrent for many people is the cost. Often times, although the lifespan of steel roofing is much longer than traditional roofing, many people will choose to go with the cheaper roofing alternatives.
Steel provides an attractive material for the roof or sides of just about any building. By that, we mean it looks good both up close and from a distance. It comes in a number of designs, cuts, and colors – and you’re sure to find one that fits the style you want to achieve. But more than that, steel roofing and steel siding have plenty of functional advantages as well. Learn more by visiting: https://higginssteelroofing.com/why-choose-steel-roofing/
I have nothing to do with Higgins Beyond being a customer and a reviewer.
We do! I have one pair on the shelf and the price is $172.00
There are also other factors that have to be considered. Some roof systems are more involved than others ie: hip/valleys side wall tie-ins etc there are several people who can advise you perhaps some photos with some close dimensions will help and either Tim or Josh would be a great start there to advise you
I do believe they carry that give them a call.
