The space itself is great for studying (it’s a newer space, bright and spacious), but as other have mentioned – most of the distractions/disruptions come from the staff. The library staff ironically are the loudest ones here, whether it be when they are on the phone, or talking to each other. Security is unnecessarily rude when enforcing rules – rapping on the desk loudly to get people’s attention, or being really mean. It’s like they think their job is to police and not to foster a community of cooperation. It is uncomfortable to see how folks are treated. For example, if someone accidentally fall asleep, so what – they are not disturbing anyone, nor are they as loud as the folks that answer the phone at the front, or the loud banging on the desk that security uses to get people’s attention. It's also interesting to see how different noise level is tolerated depending on who you are or what activity you're doing.

Was approached by security within 3 minutes of entering building and told that my "baby" aka 2 year old was being too loud and was disturbing the staff at the front desk because of her initial excitement entering the building and wanting to name the animal decorations on the wall. Have never been so caught off guard, and have visited enough libraries in the city to know how un welcoming this one feels.

Love this library in my neighborhood. Easy to order books online and pick up, and there’s a nice kids area too for little ones to play.
