Lots of variety. A good resource for those in need of furniture but can't afford to pay for it. But you must be working with a partner agency.

#1 furniture bank I refer all to schedule an appointment with their case worker.

Staff unprofessional. Items old and beat up. It's a no go. Save your money and time!

CFB picked up our old king mattress and box springs, which are not easy or cheap to get rid of in the city. The scheduling was easy, they're great communicators, and arrived on time as scheduled. Will definitely use them again and highly recommend donating any usable furniture to these guys!

Hello. One question the furniture is free
Depending on where in the western suburbs, we may be able to help, but our pickup radius is generally the immediate Chicagoland area. Regardless, if you may be a little beyond the radius of the CFB, our sister nonprofit Honest Junk may be able to help out! They have a larger pickup radius, all of their useable items get donated to us and our nonprofit partners, and all their revenue goes towards funding our ongoing mission. There's some more info on our Donation Pickups page, feel free to look over it! https://www.chicagofurniturebank.org/pickups
Yes indeed
What Rene said is right, our clients are referred to us by one of our 400+ nonprofit partners in the Chicagoland area! We have a list of them, along with their websites, on our website so you can find one that can help you get the furniture you need: https://www.chicagofurniturebank.org/nonprofit-partners
Just to ensure that everyone we help out is receiving all the critical support services necessary, we do only accept clients referred through one of our nonprofit partners. However, we're partnered with over 400 nonprofits, so feel free to view our nonprofit partners page and get in touch with one of them! https://www.chicagofurniturebank.org/nonprofit-partners
We have never issued furniture vouchers for our items or furniture packages, and the nature of our referral process generally doesn't involve furniture vouchers. Our clients all are referred to us by one of our 400+ nonprofit partners, who regularly cover 80% of any fees associated with our furniture packages and services. While we do have some special partnerships that involve vouchers, such as our relationship with All Chicago and their Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHV), those are instances of housing vouchers, not furniture vouchers. If you have further questions or just want to know more about our process, please feel free to reach out over email or phone: https://www.chicagofurniturebank.org/contact Also consider directly contacting some of our partners, as they have their own systems and may be able to offer more insight or help in regards to furniture vouchers: https://www.chicagofurniturebank.org/nonprofit-partners
With all pickups we ask for a suggested donation to help cover the cost of labor and the truck because we give the furniture to our clients for free. It is not a mandatory fee but allows us to continue to furnish 15 homes a day to people in need. Almost everyone gives the suggested donation.
Thank you so much, may God continue to bless you all. 🙏🏽
We are currently only are able to help people referred to us by one of our partner agencies, but don't worry! We're partnered with over 400 different agencies throughout Chicagoland and have collected a list on our website, feel free to browse and reach out to whoever may be closest to you! https://www.chicagofurniturebank.org/nonprofit-partners
We do ask for a suggested donation at the time of pick up, which helps cover the cost of truck maintenance/labor and also allows us to give the furniture to our clients for free! Feel free to visit our Pick Up page for more detailed information: https://www.chicagofurniturebank.org/pickups
Yes, it is free
Hi! You can find all the info on receiving furniture and furniture delivery on our FAQ page here: https://www.chicagofurniturebank.org/client-faqs Please don't hesitate to reach out if you can't find the answer to your question there!
We do provide delivery services but also allow for self-haul, so you could either have us deliver your chosen furniture or you can provide your own pick up vehicle. Whatever works best for you!
I know that it's free if you are in a housing program. You have to have an appointment with them.
