Horrible facility with untrained staff that I witnessed being mean and picking on the patients. Activities are on paper to meet accreditation but are never available to patients. Housekeeping never cleaned my parent’s room. I saw the same mess in the bathroom left for days until I cleaned it myself. They should be shut down!

Absolutely horrible care in this facility. My father was not medicated or fed properly and suffered while he was there. Staff are unprofessional and uncaring. The sales pitch made the memory care look like a great place for seniors, but don't believe the hype!! They list activities on the calendar but never do anything with the seniors except turn on the music & have them sit around all day. We wasted a lot of money to only have to bring him back home for fear of his safety. If you care for your loved one, DONT BRING THEM TO BAYWINDE WEBSTER MEMORYCARE!!

We were very unhappy with the outcome of my father being in Memory Care at Sage Harbor. Let me begin with the positives, and there were a few: some of the staff was very sweet, friendly and kind; the food was quite good overall; it's a lovely facility. However, if your parent has dementia and 'sundowns' and wanders, do not expect staff to watch out for this at night. Often, other residents (also with dementia and said 'sundowning" behavior) would enter his room at night, and he also wandered from his own room. The family expected there would be some supervision and to this end repeatedly recommended the facility have overnight staff position themselves at the apex where the two halls meet. Staff could still eat, talk, even watch tv but there would be eyes on the halls to prevent issues before they started. Sage Harbor told us this is not the role of assisted living, even with dementia residents. Also, despite being aware of the role UTIs have in causing delirium and strange and/or aggressive behavior, when my dad became disruptive, he was given notice and we told to find another place for him. They told me he did not have an UTI. Well, just days later, when he was sent to the hospital for aggressive behavior, not only did he in fact, have an UTI, but the infection was so severe he became septic. Mind you, they kept telling me how they liked my dad and how nice/sweet he was. Really? If that's the case, why the rush to get him out when clearly he wasn't himself? We were made to hire a private duty aide for 24/7 one on one for him to make sure he didn't become aggressive against other residents. However, this one on one's role was just that: watch for aggressive behavior, not personal care. Unfortunately, the aides at the facility thought otherwise and from late June until July 8 when my dad went to the hospital his care oversight was neglected. Not only was he dirty, wearing dirty clothes, but his room was disgustingly dirty. Feces on the floor, fecal covered socks and underwear in balls lying about, visibly soiled bed sheets. My sister, brother in law and friend moved Dad's belongings out and my sister took pictures of the bed and soiled clothing items. We intend to discuss this with corporate as well as the state. My father only this last week was well enough to leave the hospital and I finally have time to share this. As a result, I will never recommend this facility to anyone.

Best choice in our area for our parent. The collective energy here is very positive among guests and staff alike. Many activities and services provided, apartment choices, and areas for both rest and recreation. I don't understand the negative reviews. Food is top grade, with professional chefs preparing simple to gourmet meals with input from guests.
