Recently here because my 17 month old was diagnosed with Covid. I’ve never had a “bad” experience here. Staff is usually very polite and friendly. If you need to go to the ER the wait time is typical for any hospital.

Long review, but please read it all!!! I had my first child here December 2021 by c-section. What was supposed to be a joyous experience ended up being a nightmare. I was induced on the first night, 48hrs later nothing was working at all. I was told by one of the nurses my hair looked like a rats nest and she said my hair will have to be cut off, because there was no way I was going to be able to get the knots out of it. (I had my epidural on day 2 of being induced, I was still in pain, plus I had very bad carpal tunnel.) After my c-section.. I wanted to see a lactation consultant to teach me about breastfeeding. They made me wait 24hrs after the baby was born to see the lactation consultant because they only had one consultant, Terri Wheat. TERRI WHEAT went over the process, and told us she changes the baby first (I was in bed recovering from the c-section) she proceeded to change my baby in front of us without gloves on. My spouse was next to Ms Whear and noticed blood on her hands. Terri Wheat had a cut on her hand, and it was bleeding. Terri Wheat proceeded to use baby wipes to wipe the blood off of her hands, and used the baby wipe with her blood on it to wipe the private parts of my newborn baby. My spouse got very upset. Then Ms Wheat went to put on gloves. The baby never latched on, I was very uncomfortable around Ms. Wheat afterwards. They did not have another lactation consultant in the hospital. I was traumatized by everything. I was told Ms Wheat was tested for diseases due to the incident, and a report was filed with the hospital. I never heard back from anyone about it ever! The pediatrician at the hospital talked to me like I was a POS. My OB told me that the pediatrician demanded the baby to be tested for drugs. They took a piece of her umbilical chord to test, tested meconium, and her urine. (Everything came back fine) What a great way to bring my first born into the world

My nurses and doctors from the E.R. To ICU and fourth floor have been beyond excellent. They treated me with respect and kept me informed. Many Blessings to them. They’ve gone above and beyond for me.

I had my baby there on September 28th, and the whole time I was there the doctors and nurses that took care of me were nothing but kind, helpful, and insightful! Marci (RN for L&D), Dr. Beasley (Anesthesiologist), Dr. Bradley (operated and delivered my baby via c-section), and all the other nurses during my time in the L&D ward were so amazing! And the nursing staff in the Mother Baby Ward were just as exceptional - especially Lindsay (RN), Sarah (RN), and all the student nurses doing their rotations! I got great advice from the lactation specialist and the pediatricians that came to check on my baby were also spectacular. Very appreciative of the staff that helped me through everything and would definitely recommend! :)

Please visit us at TexasHealth.org/Southwest for a hospital map and directions! Thank you, --Katie, Texas Health
No! Doctor/patient confidentiality applies!!! HOWEVER...I RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT OFFER any info that would incriminate or make it necessary for a doctor to have to file report (as a doctor IS by contract a mandated reporter of abuse or other dangers to a person in certain situations)/(Refer to HIPPAA laws for more detailed info...)
