Just understand when you go to this dealership or any of them, they are a business, a company that is trying to make a top dollar profit on a sale. They are not your friend, They do not care about you or your family, even though they say they do....They only care about the money. It's a business transaction, it's not personal to them. You will save yourself a lot of time and headache if you understand this first. My experience here was not good, even with this understanding, but moving on to another vehicle is easier.

My mother's Jeep Cherokee came in for a check engine light and was unable to be turned off. The service writer told her the issue was the park sensor and a right front hub sensor and that's a ABS issue. There were no ABS lights on. Turns out the PCM needed updates from Chrysler that were readily available every time she brought her vehicle in for general service. Her vehicle is now out of warranty, and this is when they decided to perform the updates. They charged her to perform an update to her vehicles computer, which is provided by the manufacturer. When I asked about this charge, I was told by the service manager Adam " we don't update until it becomes an issue, and now that it's out of warranty, it's not covered... We have to make our money somehow. We can't work for free." The manager could not give me a reason why we had to pay for a manufacturer provided update. The manager just kept saying the vehicle is out of warranty. Due to age not mileage. The warranty should have nothing to do with a simple computer update. The manufacturer recognized a bug in its system, fixed it, and sent it out to its dealers to perform updates. The dealer chose to wait till the bug caused an issue for the customer, the customer brought the vehicle to them, now the dealer charges the customer to fix an issue that they already knew about. This is bad business. I was told " it's not a recall, it's an update." Well this lack of update caused the vehicle to malfunction and Mac Haik knowingly let that vehicle leave its lot on multiple occasions with pending updates because they hold the "well its not broke yet" mentality.
