The airport is small but nice.

Airport is small. If you do not like dealing with big crowds or don't want the security hassel of the big airport it is great. The planes that fly out of there are small so the flight is a little more bumps or not level all the time and you have to get a connecting flight to most places as they only fly direct to ohare and Denver but I don't mind to avoid the crowds at checkin and security.

The new Joplin airport is very nice and the staff friendly. It was nice to be able to fly into my hometown. I hope SkyWest/United continue their service or at least another carrier picked it up (Alaska Airlines is a personal favorite but Delta could also offer good options). Keep in mind there is one security line. The day I flew out someone in front of me seemed to have about every restricted item in their carry -on bags. People, CHECK THE TSA WEBSITE BEFORE YOU FLY. The list of items is RIGHT THERE. One person backed up the line for 10 minutes because of this. Other nice features are free parking and quick access. I will use JLN again given the opportunity.

Nice little airport, I was standing watching my son's plane take off when the airport's manager approached me and offered me to go watch from the observation deck, which I never knew it had, although I wish I had known because usually my grandkids are with and they would ♥️it.otherwise I would have given 5⭐... Thanks Joplin airport.✈️

Around 6am-12-1pm- around 8-9pm
Yes, there is.
Yes 5am is a good time to show up if your flight leaves at 6am.
The Alpha Air Center puts on the airshow every other year in September. The next one will be in 2019.
They have a vending machine. Not a lot of choices. I really like that staff there and it was a good place to fly out of. Very professional and courteous staff there.
Yes it is safe
No testing site
Yes you can. There are bag scales at the ticket counter.
That was in the news but their was a follow up article that stated they would continue service. The follow up never made big news headlines.
You will need to call American Airlines directly to verify flights. They can only do that personally at the airport. It has something to do with them verifying your identity.
Yes you can take a connecting flight as a UM. Best connection would be through DFW to RSW.
You can fly from Joplin to Dallas/Fort Worth airport. You would need to get on a connecting flight from there to go to Florida. Joplin currently has 3 flights a day going to Dallas.
Parking is for airport use only. We have parked there many times for extended periods. It is well lit and safe with plenty of security.
No, we have direct flights to Dallas Fort Worth via American be Airlines.
TSA now everything stays in bags. But share same line as non core check. Longest for orw tsa was 10 minutes
Joplin flies American to Chicago and Dallas. From there you get a connecting flight. Have to look on American website for prices.
No direct flights to Canada from Joplin. You can fly to either Dallas or Chicago and it's American airlines only.
If you ask airline. They may give you one. Especially if you need assistance
That would be a question for American Airlines
My flight leaves at 545am
You will need to check it. The planes that leave joplin are super small and have little to no over head space.
As of today flights come only from Dallas, TX. No flights directly come to Joplin airport.
Starting from June 06, 2019 there will be flights to Chicago, but not to St. Luis.
American Air to Dallas-Fort Worth and sometime in April they'll be going to Chicago also. It might be soon than April for that Chicago flight.
I would contact the Airport and ask them. For a definite answer. Good Luck and safe travels!
I think she will need to be in a travel cage. Not sure about a support animal.
The airport is open 24/7. The airline opens around 5:00am the flight leaves around 6:00am to 6:15am.
Your local bank may if you have an account.
No. Only flights to Dallas. 2 per day. Connections from there.
No. Currently the only airline is American and they have two flights per day to Dallas. Around 6am and 215pm. You can connect from Dallas to almost anywhere, but directly from Joplin to OKC, you would need to bring a parachute and jump out half way lol.
Tax dollars that subsidize airlines to fly into small towns.
