Had to attend a funeral, so that wasn't a great reason to visit. The hotel made up for that with an extremely comfortable room and excellent service. Very popular with the biking community, so expect to see bikes in the lobby waiting area. You get a few bonuses on check-in for dining in the restaurant located on the premises. History buffs will love the history of the hotel and all the features of the building. The entire staff was so helpful and friendly.

If you choose to rent the ballroom for an event or get catering from the Ivory Grille make sure you get a contract. I had my wedding in the ballroom and was promised lots of things I did not receive. The restaurant staff looked at the full trash cans and told my guest to leave the trash anywhere. I was promised a person to serve my wedding cake after my husband and I had our first taste and my aunt had to do it. When my mom asked the hotel manager what happened to the service we were promised she called the police on my mother. The hotel manager, Tiffany Bryant, also triple charged my husband for the catering the day before we had to leave for our honeymoon. We calmly tried to figure out what happened and she refused to answer our calls. We had to get police involved to get a refund, and have only received 1/3 of what we are owed. Trying to contact her during my wedding planning was like pulling teeth. She does all of her business through text on her personal number. The catering menus provided from the ivory grille are vague and confusing. I booked a queen quite and a king room for my bridal parties and we received two queen rooms. My aunt had a room where the door wouldn’t even lock. I had a beautiful wedding due to all the hard work from my friends and family. But if you want a stress free event, don’t book this hotel.

When I first arrived we had issues with the booking of our room. We had booked 2 rooms months in advance and they had screwed up on one of the rooms. Not a huge deal since they were able to get us our room. The parking here is almost nonexistent, 8:30pm and we had to park a way down from our hotel and walk a bit, which in an area like this, isn't very safe feeling. Also found it hard to sleep at night due to a lot of cars with their windows down and the music turned up full volume. I know that's not something the hotel can do anything about but I think it's worth adding to the review. As I was writing this review outside a car was revving up their car and someone was shouting very loudly. This was at 10:30 at night, some people need to wake up early the next day. Just overall a not so great experience at the hotel in a not so great area
