Scheduled multiple "tentative appointments" even though I called back and told them to cancel them. When they could not get a hold of me, they called my emergency contact to schedule my appointment with them. When I called the last time to cancel my appointment, the person who picked up (Jade), seemed to not know what was going on, said "bye", and hung up on me.

For this place I will only give 2 stars. I hate that, because the eye doctor we saw was phenomenal. However, they customer service is less than up to par. Every time I have called to see where my sons glasses are I get a generic “I don’t know when they are going to be in, they are a special kind of lense so it just takes longer” okay, but it absolutely should not take more than a few weeks. It’s been 2 months. After his follow up appointment, I will NEVER come back to this office. I am so highly disappointed.

OVERPRICED FRAMES, TAKES ADVANTAGE OF MILITARY. Our 4 year old struggles with lazy eye so we brought him here. They told us our son's current lens prescription was too high, so gave us a new prescription, and convinced us to pay over $300 on a pair of toddler glasses that was supposed to have a 3 year warranty. As the months went on, my sons lazy eye did not improve, so we contacted them several times for over a month to get a referral for Children's Mercy, but never heard back. Had to go through Tricare to get a referral since we never heard back . We waited over 3 months to take our son to Children's Mercy (since they were so booked), and the doctor said his prescription (from eyecare specialties) was too weak, and that our sons original prescription was correct! We contacted Eyecare Specialties and STILL didn't receive a call back, so drove there. They then said it would be $175 to replace his lens because it had been over 6 months and eye prescriptions change over time. You're telling me you want $500 on a pair of toddler glasses that we haven't even had for a year?! So $300 down the drain on a pair of glasses he wore for less than a year. We ended up getting him a new pair from Walmart for under $40! Do not take younger children here! Go to an actual children's eye specialist.

Won't be going back. My first experience here was about 2 years ago. I had gotten some glasses through them. When I told the man who helped me when picking them up that everything was very fuzzy, he did not believe me. He finally got up and went to the back only to realize that instead of a minus on my prescription, they had made it a plus. He never apologized, just said he would reorder them. I recently got some new insurance, and the only place nearby that would take it was here. I placed an order for glasses with them, and not 10 minutes later needed to cancel that order. (I found some cheaper ones online.) Instead of refunding me, the lady accidentally charged me twice. She then said that she would refund me TWICE since she charged me TWICE for something that I was not going to get. I called about 2 weeks later to let her know that I only received ONE refund. She then told me that she would look into. I never heard anything back from them so called AGAIN in hopes of getting my money for something I never received. In the meantime, while waiting for a call back, someone there had called me to let me know that my glasses were in... I tried to explain to them that literally 10 minutes after placing the order, I had gone back in to cancel it, and that I was STILL waiting for my second refund. Nothing came of that.... I called again and thankfully didn't have to wait for a call back. I explained my situation again, I was told that I would be put on hold. While on hold, a customer answered the phone saying they had told him someone was on the line for him?! I don't know if they were hoping I would hang up? He gave the phone back to someone who asked who I was, and said that I would be placed back on hold.... The lady that I was originally speaking to picked up again and said everything looked fine on their end, and she would call the place that deals with their reimbursements and things. She did actually call me back this time and asked for the information for my bank to get in contact with them. I'm not sure if she ever did, but in the process of waiting, I tried to call back to confirm that they are looking for TWO reimbursements and not ONE. I had received one, but was still waiting on the SECOND. I've completely given up hope of dealing with this through them, and am disputing the second charge with my bank. I can 100% sign that dispute paper and say that I have tried my best at resolving this with the merchant. I understand that accidents happen, but this was beyond frustrating to deal with. I never leave reviews on Google, but in this circumstance..... Hopefully this will nudge someone there to make better communication among staff and with customers. 🙂

How long does it take to get new glasses in once they’re paid for and ordered?

We try to get all glasses ready to dispense by 7 business days. If you have a more robust prescription, it can take a little longer.

I saw Dr J Lake, I know his wife, Dr Susie is also in the office as well as another doctor. Don't remember her name. Really liked Dr J.
