Beautiful large lake with a well defined walking trail and exercise stops along the way. Also seemed to be some sort of nature hut there that has info about local wildlife and such

Per City of Lafayette regulations, only watercraft rented at the Waneka Lake Boathouse are allowed on the lake. No personal vessels at any time. The Waneka Lake Boathouse is open Wednesdays and Fridays from 1-7pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-4pm. No, you can rent them at the boathouse, but no private craft are allowed. Private water crafts, including boats and paddle-boards, are not allowed on Waneka Lake in order to prevent the introduction or spread of aquatic nuisance species.
