Nice beautiful park for walking, fishing or a nice BBQ under the shade. Grills & tables available. Lots of nature around, such as flowers, animals, trees, and much more. Is most of the time empty the times I've gone.

It's a good place to unwind, eat lunch, let your pets run around, catch up on calls/messages, and fish...although the fishing is slow in that river.

Not wheelchair accessible inside the kids parks. Yes there's a ramp to go in, but inside the playground your electric wheelchair will get stuck in the mulch. Also under the bridge there's no wheelchair accessible to go see the river. Great park for the kids. There's a swimming pool. No baby swings.

Love the station to take our kayaks out of the water! Most times the fishing folks move out of the way, sometimes they don't...

No! NEVER EVER catch wild animals, fish or any of the sort to put into captivity! What are your thinking? 1st that is cruel - 2nd it's wrong 3rdly the probability of survival is nil. - and lastly , no Texas cichlids are very rare in those parts, youd e better off to go into Arkansas where they originate then swim down.

Can you swim here or is it gross or offlimits?

I would not swim in the river. A lot of people fish in it, meaning there's likely a lot of sharp paraphernalia such as hooks in the bottom. I've lost several myself. Also there's a fair amount of trash and the water is pretty brown and grey with mud. On the other hand, wild onions grow everywhere along the river!

What are the hours of operation? Is camping allowed?

You can camp at the park off 775 in Floresville. It's very nice and I believe 10.00 a night.

I know it's usually a given that most parks close at dark, but it's dark now at 6:30pm and that's a ridiculous time to close up. Is it closed at a certain time, or just at dark no mattet the time?
