I did not have a pleasurable experience here. I am all natural but recently got a sew in with leave out that my friend installed. I came in for a silk press to blend my leave out. The girl(the assistant) who primarily worked on my hair did a good job. She mentioned she was in hair school and was working there temporarily. However, what appeared to be the owner(short blonde hair wearing a hat) tried to instruct the girl throughout the process. I sat underneath the dryer as I watched the owner go from another head to another. One lady had a short cut and was practically running from the flat iron the owner was using. The owner didn’t appear to care. I had doubts but I trusted the girl I was under thinking the owner wouldn’t be apart of my process. As I requested heat protector for my edges, the owner interjected and sprayed my edges wet. She than burnt my wet hair with the small flat iron. I couldn’t believe how she put the flat iron on my wet hair before letting it dry. It happened so fast. When I felt it I knew smh. I stopped her before she got to the other side of my head. The original girl helped me by drying my edges with a towel assuming I would let the owner get the other side as well. I appreciate her efforts. The owner was very rushed and called me “scary” for stopping her from burning my other side of my head! When I mentioned that I didn’t want my hair to be burned she responded “but you want a silk press”. She than continued with a few comments stating “you should stay curly” as if me asking for my hair not to be burnt meant I needed a new hairstyle. I was very frustrated. The other girl appeared to understand my frustration and mentioned that she would lower the heat on the rest of my leave out. She also asked what I was comfortable with moving forward. She had excellent service. As for the owner, she was very inconsiderate and appeared to not care about my needs or the health of my hair. I would never go to this place again. I received a wash, blow dry and a press to my leave out. I didn’t even have time to get my weave pressed because I was there for 3 hours and had somewhere to be. The owner did make sure I sat under the dryer for a length time so my hair wouldn’t stink. She also took me in as a last minute walk in.That I appreciated, but she still charged me full price. My scalp is burnt in the spot where the owner burnt me. All in all I would not recommend this shop. Above is the review I posted yesterday. The response from the owner is listed below. I couldn’t respond to her on a review so I’m responding here. Notice how she is deflecting. My leave out blended with my hair fine. That is not my issue. My issue is that my scalp is burnt from her flat ironing my edges while they were still wet from the heat protection product she sprayed. I repeat this has nothing to do with my hair not blending. This has to do with the owner rushing and burning my edges. Even by her remarks of “Steve wonder” or “Magicians” should show you the tone she sets for that environment.
