The ceviche was flavorful but the fried oyster taco and the chicken taco platter were out of this world! The only reason I decided to deduct a star is because the host seemed absolutely disinterested in seating us. Admittedly we got there 30 minutes before closing time but I don't think that's an excuse to treat us poorly. There was clearly an empty table but we still had to wait 10 minutes before being seated.

We went to Mi Tocaya last weekend and the food was SO tasty and reasonably priced for the quality. Servings were generous but not ENORMOUS. Salsa was outstanding. We had an issue where the party ahead of us just would not get up and we waited 30 minutes past our reservation time—it was pretty frustrating because the restaurant is so small that we literally had to wait on the sidewalk, but I was so appreciative for how they handled it and tried to make it right (obviously not the staff’s fault either…please don’t just sit with the check on your table for 30 minutes at popular restaurants on the weekend lmao); they comped our whole first round and chips and guac, and other than this experience out of their control the service was really good! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. I also really like family style restaurants but I will say I think the portions are pretty much just individual entree sized so there’s no real need to do family style ordering if you don’t want! We’ll definitely be back. They said the menu rotates a lot and I’m looking forward to trying more!

I would like to try the entire menu. Try the fried oyster taco - I don’t even like oysters as I think they taste like boogers. This place is incredible and I will come again.

Fantastic take on authentic Mexican food! Unique ingredients and powerful flavors. Perhaps a tad too salty for my liking, but I would come here again. Many vegetarian and pescatarian options.
