This is a small business compared to best buy or whatever. The selection of cameras is not comparable. They have everything! The staff were warm and friendly. They were very knowledgeable and honest. They helped me find a pretty good camera for a pretty good price. They taught me about it. This was the best shopping experience I've had in a long time. I will definitely come back for anything else I need.

Absolutely incredible place for the photography nerds!

I can appreciate how hard it is to own a brick and mortar business in the face of competition from big online retailers, but I tried to sell a used camera here and they offered me about 1/3 of the value that the camera is actually worth. For reference, an excellent condition used A7R3 on B&H is over $2000, HCE offered me $750. So I definitely don’t think they give you good value when buying your old cameras, you would be better off selling directly on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace.

Called store to discuss lenses availability, was told lens’s we were looking for was $99. Drove across Houston nearly 40 minutes only to be told by the lady we spoke to that “I must’ve misspoke.” Then when we made clear we had no interest in buying a $3000+ brand new camera she says to us with a laugh “well my be just a hobby then” and proceeded to be on cell phone while we continued to try to look. Very disappointed in our experience there and will not be back

If it works, we will usually buy it. Unless it is really old or film is not available for it. If it is old Digital cameras, it really depends on whether they still have accessories available. Give the store a call and ask for Bernie 7137896901
Yes. They let you test them on your camera or they'll lend you one that's the closest thing to it.

No, I am afraid we do not. There is no longer a viable resale market for us to buy older camcorders. Thank you, Houston Camera Exchange
They dont repair cameras but they do recommend you 2 places.
Yes, but not a bad idea to call ahead and see if they have the model you need in stock.
Yes they do.
I would contact the store because I'm not sure.
Take it up there they buy used equipment
Yes, they give you cash or store credit for used camera gear
I saw 35 mm film only.
I would contact the store to be sure. I know they buy old / used cameras and lens.
I don't believe they will clean it for you but what you will find is the things you need to clean it
We do. Anywhere from $20- $60. Color and Black and white film
That's a particularly tough task to ask a camera to do. Especially if you are in low light, like a stadium. During the day it would be no problem. Nikon makes a 75-300 that runs about $600 that would do what you ask. It has built in Vibration Reduction (VR) to help stabilize in low light. You'll have to use a high ISO which will degrade the image quality a little. We have the lens in stock if you want to come by and try it on your camera and judge whether it will accomplish what you want.
Hi, Thank you for your interest. Yes we do buy and take trade-in's toward equipment that has a market for reselling and is in good working condition. Simply bring it by the store for a quote or call ahead (713-789-6901) for a general idea of value. We can not give a firm quote without actually seeing the equipment. However, our grading system is on our website and will help give you an idea of what we look for when evaluating the items value. https://www.houstoncameraexchange.com/used-camera-upgrading Thank you, Houston Camera Exchange
The X-Pro 2 was replaced by the X-Pro 3. You would need to call the store for pricing. 713-789-6901 Thank you
Thank you for asking. Yes, we do buy cameras and take trade-in's. At this time, the Nikon Z7 II is in very limited supply and we are taking pre-order deposits that will add you to the list to be called as we get them in from Nikon. Please call for more details or visit the store to get a trade-in quote for your D850. 713-789-6901 M-F 10am-7pm, Sat 10am-6pm CLosed Sunday.
Yes we do, both paper and cloth and stands to hold them.
Yes we are. The best process is to call for an appointment and we can set up a time for you to bring them by for review.
Call the store and ask.
$50 to $300
I have several Canon 5Ds and I love the 17-40mm f/4L...if you can't afford it you could always rent it.
Ferr, unfortunatelly we don't do repairs. Try contating Professional Camera Repair or Camera Care Center. Good luck!
Unfortunately, we do not deal much in video equipment. The suggestions of eBay are correct. Be sure to research what they go for by selecting "sold" listings on the left side on eBays page. Thanks for your question!
Hi Al, $899.99 is the price. We do not currently have one in stock, but let us know if we can order one for you! Best regards, HCE
Unfortunately, we don't do camera cleanings or service. We do however sell the supplies needed which cost about $25-$80 depending on what all you need and what to be able to do and how often. There are also a couple Repair shops in the area such as Professional Camera Repair and Camera Care Center. They are full service repair shops and can certainly do that for you. Sometimes, spots can be easily blown off with a rocket blower, which we also sell.
Yes, they do. give them a call before you go, best wishes
Maybe 2/3 of it current value
I believe they do not, but they will know who does and reccomend someone.
Hi Neyder, The D3400 with battery, charger and lenses could be worth up to $180 in working condition. Please bring the gear by at your convenience for a complete evaluation. Thank you, HCE
You would have to take that in and have them look at it.
Yes, they have a vast variety of professional film
Yes. They do. They offered store credit to me for my old camera. Which I should use to buy any other from the store.
Yeah it fits but results a cropped picture
Hi Ken, We have several different tripods you can select from and they start at $59.99 on up. They will vary in size and weight. If you like to stop we can use our P900 demo camera and set it up for you. Thank you.
Only a Nikon repair center can fix that. A store can't fix that.
And!
We do! Bring it by, and we'll take a look.
I'm not sure, but I doubt it, there are sales tax on everything but dairy products. If I purchased something in your country, I would think I'd have to pay taxes or tariffs according to their laws.
Yes
If you bring it by, we'll happily give it a look, however if it is in need of any repairs, we will have to then refer you elsewhere.
Good morning. Are you interested in the 70-300 with vibration reduction? Are you interested in the FX or DX version?
Yes, they sell vast variety of film cameras
I don't believe they rent equipment. But you could call them and get the correct information.
Call and ask the front desk for info on rentals.
They don't buy old cameras. But you could also call them up and ask.
Yes, great variety for diverse necessities
Call them and ask if they have any Canon FD lenses.
They do not process or print film.
They can test it for free
Lamentablemente, no tenemos este artículo.
Go to the camera exchange they can fix it up or tell you if it's worth fixing
Really take it to the camera exchange they can tell you what's wrong
Yup, lots a stuff
Yes it is and a brand new one I just newly bought..
If you call they can recommend local repair shops that might be able to help with repair questions.
What Marilyn said is correct. They will know the best place to get your specific type of camera repaired.
Look at their web site on the used equipment tab to see if they have one. Also renting one might be an advantage. If you call them, they are really good about giving you information that's very helpful.
They have new and used equipment and knowledgeable staff. I'd go in and ask their advice. They allow you to test out equipment too.
No. It was one the reasons why I went there and they graciously directed me to a place called the Photo Lab.
