It's bad enough that they sit at stop signs to watch if people stop all the way (which is petty), but they do it at residential intersections that aren't busy, where stop signs aren't even necessary and the chance of them actually preventing an accident is basically non existent. One intersection they often sit around at is 162nd St and Quail Ct/Fox Ct, which is essentially a single side street with two very short dead ends. It's also sad that they seem to do this more on lower income blocks in the morning when working class people are trying to go to their jobs. The police seem more predatory than protective.

This department is a joke including Cheryl that answers the phone for them. Officers and sergeants don’t know how to call back after voicemails have been left. One of the sergeants talked to us like we were below him. Not how your suppose to treat people because you have a badge. This department feeds off of writing tickets and making money. That’s all they are good for. Specially towards the end of the month stay away from orland hills because they are thirsty to meet that quota!!!

My boyfriend & I called after seeing a dog sitting in a van for over 30 minutes in the (90 degree heat with no windows down) literally in the Aldi parking lot which is a minute drive away from the station. We gave them the description of the vehicle including the license plate. They proceeded to send out COMMUNITY SERVICE. They looped around the parking lot & did absolutely nothing. They obviously don't care whatsoever about the community they were hired to protect. I hope that poor dog is alright.

I don't feel safe in this area with the overwhelming, unnecessary police presence. The police in this area have nothing better to do than to ruin peoples' lives giving out overpriced tickets for petty infractions, sitting in speed trap zones, and arresting innocent people because they're too lazy to do any real work or investigating. You can't even leave your house near the end of the month cuz they'll give you a ticket for anything they can come up with just to make their quota. They don't serve and protect. They ruin lives and make us feel like we can't even leave our homes. Nobody likes coming to Orland because of the useless police presence here. Are there even any officers of color? I have yet to see one.
