I'm looking for a machine shop. I need to get a ball park quote so I can give MY customer an estimate. I called and was told they couldn't give me a quote with out knowing what the engine needs. I understand. I was in the auto machine business for 10 years. But all I need to know is what they charge for doing The basic things like, bore and hone, how much is a valve job and surface, what is the cost to clean the intake and valve covers, oil pan ect. When I told her that's what I needed she told me to take it somewhere else. She said the closest she could get was 2,500.00- 3,500. I was like that's a wild guess. It looks like they have been in business so long they don't need any new customers. Service with a smile makes the cash register full. Service like a grinch gets no new business.

They can rebuild it. Would probably be better for you to get your own parts. Not sure how much their suppliers charge for the parts. I took my own parts for my rebuild. Good luck.
I can do all the machine work to the 1J but i can't get any parts for it. My suppliers don't recognize that engine because it is a Japan motor.
