Heavner Canoe Rental deserves 5 stars for supporting the Chief Pontiac Trail program that offers youth canoe treks to both Boy and Girl programs! It is vendors like Heavner that enable such programming to function. Also I really appreciated the current and up to date information they provided on their main website in regards to the Huron River Hexavalent chromium pollution spill back in August. They were my go-to source on the state of the river and made planning easier. So Thank you for that!

Friendly and fast customer service, website was a little clunky to navigate but calling was easy and employees were wonderful. Great location and easy to navigate. Good signage on the river! Thank you for a lovely memory.

Fun and easy experience renting kayaks for the first time. My husband and I did the tandem kayak and had a great time, picturesque views and staff was helpful in sending us in the right direction and answering our questions.

Our downriver trips include return transportation. You can view all your options from our Proud Lake location at https://heavnercanoe.com/proud-lake. Self-return is also available, where you canoe up and down the river at your own pace, and return when you're done. The river is quite calm and picturesque upstream from us. Thanks!
At this time there is no fee but a recreation passport is required to enter as it is a state park. Just park and go.
Prices are: kayak (one or two person)or canoe (can fit a family of 4 as long as two are smaller weighing a combined weight of 100 lbs or less) the same rate, like a family discount. Depending on the trip you take, prices run from $28 for one hour into the $50 range for several hours. Uniquely located on State park land, there is an option to paddle upstream and fish or swim OR paddle downstream through park, rural then residential setting into Central Park in Milford for shopping or restaurant dining. For the more adventurous, there are extended trips around a dam where the water picks up a bit of speed, then onto a slower lake where you may have to navigate against the wind to reach your destination. There are videos on the website.
It's 35 for up to 4 hours and 6 dollars for each additional hour. From June 1 to Sept 1 they are open 9am to 8 pm. April 1 to June 1 they close at 7 pm. After Labor day till Oct 31 they close at 6pm.
