Great place. Only real set back is that there is no good access to the water at any location. Not even a designated swim area. Get ready to hike about 50 yards through knee to waste high grass and brush.

Camping after 4th of July. Hot in daytime but nice cool breeze at night. Tent camping on the tip of peninsula is nice and quiet. Camp hosts are friendly. Water and electricity is a huge plus. We brought our own fan and shower/bathroom so very convenient. Nice trees to give you shade. Awesome camping experience.

Loved it other than a dirty bathroom after Saturday night, but I guess it's to be expected when the park is packed.

The camping area is clean but the trees are almost all gone compared to when i used to come with my grandparents. The lake is clean and beautiful still, however, the army core picked a real 'peach' to run the guard shack. He was unclear about what was ok to burn and where..obviously.because multiple campers apparently were also confused about what was ok and so instead of being professional and respectfully asking us tax payers who are now paying again to camp.there to 'please put out the fire in the ground grills we provide' or even just being clear in the first place and just flat out telling us not to use the fire grills in the ground, he just pulled up about 930 at night and exclaimed, "What part of no fires do you idiots not understand?! Im going to call the sheriff and let him tell yall what to do!" Needless to say I will NEVER bring my children here again to have some disgruntled warp minded STRANGER try to undermine me and the other adults in front of our children. The kids is why we came. Sadly, as long as that jerk is still working the gate, I will always warn people who also would like to take their kids there. At least I got to stop by the cemetary and visit my grand parents with the kids on the way out. They were members of this local community, neighborhood watch, O.E.S. members, shriners and just all around good people. They NEVER would treat another human, child or adult, black or white, male or female, like that. I regret being so compelled to write such an awful review about anyone or anything. Please forgive me. The land and the water and the location earn the 3 stars...easily.

There is a fresh water faucet and outlet at each site with a large covered picnic style table, if you want to take your own bathroom and kitchen set up you can but there are also restrooms and shower available 24 hr, you can make fires and use the bbq pit as well if you choose to.
