Apparently, it doesn't matter if you put your name on the waiting list. All you have to do is just start talking to one of the employees and they'll just skip everyone waiting. Terrible customer service, all I needed to do is pick up equipment that I already paid for.

Jaz was awesome! I went in to have my modem activated but nothing could be done at the store. Rather than letting me leave without any results, Jaz was able to schedule a next day appointment for me. Excellent service, thank you.

I believe you can and you shouldn't need an appointment. I waltzed in one morning around mid day and was helped right away.
