$7,000 REPAIR 10 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE RESOLVED - See all updates I purchased a 2014 Hyundai Sonata with 126k miles on it. On the 10th day of owning the car a rattling noise developed in the engine. (2022-06-15 Update to add a detail: after finalizing paperwork they took the car to their maintenance area to 'spruce it up' according to the salesperson, Hong. I waited for nearly 45 minutes until it was ready. Just twiddling my thumbs and chatting with Hong wondering why a spruce up was taking so long. Mind you, the interior of the car was pristine when I test drove it and the outside was freshly washed. When they finally pulled the car around after 45 minutes absolutely nothing had changed visually. I don't know what they did in those 45 minutes but no 'sprucing up' took place.) Upon taking it to a shop it turns out the engine is loaded with metal fragments. The car requires an ENTIRELY NEW ENGINE. That is a $7,000 repair - more than half the cost of the car. It is not covered under recalls because there was an expired recall for something unrelated (not disclosed at sale). My shop is 100% confident that this issue was known. Anyone who inspected this vehicle would have seen all of the metal in the oil. They took pictures of it and I will upload them when I get them. Extremely dirty sales practices. Do not go here, it's not worth the risk. 2022-05-23 Update: I was finally able to get in contact with the Apply Chevy General Manager, John Schmidt. He was the most helpful person so far. He has told me he can do a trade in for another vehicle to minimize my losses. They are going to look through their inventory of the various lots and get back to me. Will add another update as things unfold. 2022-06-15 Update: The manager, John Schmidt, and the salesperson, Hong Nguyen, offered a Honda Fit with similar miles, but it was $2k MORE than the broken Sonata. I went out to test drive it and it didn't start. It eventually started and I took it for a pre-purchase inspection. The shop said what was obvious, it needed a new starter. So I am not entirely happy being offered another broken vehicle at a higher price than the first one. After that the salesperson Hong Nguyen told me to look at inventory online to find other possible trade in options. I sent them 5 options which were all cheaper than the original vehicle. Hong was apparently on vacation all last week so it took awhile for a response. Today they texted me saying the following: "Hello Paul. The manager said the bank can not do it because of the age of the car and mileage. You need money down minimum $3000. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you." Mind you, they have not communicated anything else since I sent them the 5 vehicle options so I am very confused by this response. I have also called and left 3+ unanswered messages with both John Schmidt and Hong Nguyen. It seems like they are backing out of their own proposed resolution. Will update if they ever respond. 2022-06-15 Update 2: I got a call back from Hong. Apparently now John Schmidt, the general manager, is on vacation all week. So I'll need to wait until Monday for the next update. 2022-06-17 This morning I received a call from one of the VPs of Apple Motors, Dave Waltrup. He was direct and immediately helpful. He has promised to replace the motor free of charge. I will be having the car towed to their shop on Monday 6/20 to have the work done. This is what should have been done from day 1, but better late than never. I appreciate that they are doing the right thing regardless. I will post a final update as well as revise my rating once the work is complete. 2022-10-07 Final Update: They replaced the motor for free and I got the car back mid July. I am adding a star, changing the review from one to two stars. I am very happy they followed through but the trouble I went through for a resolution was insane. I know several people who have had good experiences here. It does seem that my case was an oddity. Even still it was not handled well. The result was a massive amount of stress and work for me.

Melissa, if we are talking New yes they absolutely price match, as every Chevy dealer can offer the same rebates from one customer to the next based on zip code. (Some states can offer rebates customers do not qualify for. Pennsylvania is not one of those states.) As far as pre owned, not one pre owned vehicle is the same so prices will vary for many many reasons. Hopefully this answers your question. If you have any further questions I would reach out to the dealership.
