I absolutely LOVE this place. I go to Brittany Mallardi in the Freehold office and it's always the best experience. Brittany is so incredibly kind, understanding and provides you with all the information to help you make a more informed decision. Hands down the best dermatologist I've ever been to (and I've been to A LOT). Sharon has also been so incredibly helpful and sweet by calling me with updates and providing discount codes for prescriptions. The two of them together is perfection. They will always make sure my prescriptions are processed and have even gone to bat with my insurance/pharmacy. I drive 50 minutes each ways just to see them even though I have plenty to choose from within 15 minutes from my home. Highly recommend!!!!!

Had a cyst removed on the shoulder by Dr. Groisser in the Nutley office. Nothing special, just a small cyst. Since the Freehold office is close to my home I decided to go there for my stitch removal. Took two nurses and one PA to get out the stitches (seriously). If that wasn't enough I discovered they next day that they left one in!! Wasn't going back to this sideshow. My husband pulled it out. Love the Nutley office. Freehold is a heck no for me.

From.the time I walked in the office, from the receptionist to the nurse/ doctor's assistant to the doctor herself, I truly was treated with respect and kindness. Each one of the ladies made me feel welcome and answered any questions I asked. Thank you.

Questions & Answers

Who is a good candidate for eyelid surgery?

Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021
Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021

You may be a good candidate for eyelid surgery if you are experiencing sagging in your upper eyelids, puffy bags in your lower eyelids, or both. You may even notice your vision is obscured by drooping upper eyelid skin. It is best to consult one-on-one with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you are a candidate for the procedure. Please contact us online or call our office to schedule your consultation with Dr. Chow.

How long does BOTOX last?

Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021
Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021

BOTOX® results typically last about 3 to 4 months before the product naturally wears off. Most people return for touch-up treatments every 3 months to maintain their smooth skin.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021
Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021

All dermal fillers Dr. Chow uses are FDA approved and have long track records of safety. When performed by a qualified professional, such as triple board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Chow, these injections are generally very low risk. In the rare case you experience a complication or change your mind about your results, hyaluronic acid fillers such as JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® can be dissolved at any time.

What is the difference between rhinoplasty and septoplasty?

Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021
Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021

Rhinoplasty typically refers to a cosmetic procedure aimed at improving the appearance of the nose by narrowing or straightening the bridge, removing bumps, decreasing the size of a bulbous tip, and more. Septoplasty is a medical procedure that corrects issues with the septum to improve breathing and airflow. Both a cosmetic rhinoplasty and a functional septoplasty can be performed within the same surgery if needed.

How long does swelling from rhinoplasty last?

Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021
Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021

Most swelling after a rhinoplasty subsides within a few weeks. However, it is not uncommon to have some residual swelling that lasts between 6 months and a year.

Are there nonsurgical alternatives to rhinoplasty?

Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021
Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021

Dermal fillers injected into and around the nose provide a minimally invasive alternative to rhinoplasty for the right candidates. This procedure (called a “nonsurgical rhinoplasty” or “nonsurgical nose job”) involves little to no downtime and is often more affordable than nose surgery. It is also helpful for lifting a drooping tip, disguising bumps, creating the illusion of a narrower bridge, and more. The downside is that the results last about a year, whereas surgical rhinoplasty lasts a lifetime.

Does insurance cover a nose job?

Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021
Jennifer Hom | Oct 24, 2021

Nose surgery performed only for cosmetic purposes is not typically covered by insurance. However, medical rhinoplasties that correct breathing issues by addressing the septum or turbinates typically do qualify for insurance coverage. Dr. Chow will perform an endoscopic exam as part of your consultation to determine whether your procedure may be covered by insurance. Please contact us online or call our office to schedule your consultation.
