I posted this once already, and it was mysteriously taken down the next day: If there was an option to choose 0 stars, I would do so. I recently went to the French Sole boutique and outlet for the first time. Before I bought several pairs of shoes, I asked the manager what the return policy was and she said that I could return them within 2 weeks. She did not specify that by return she meant exchange or store credit only - omitting this crucial detail. I tried wearing the shoes at home for several hours and they were very uncomfortable - so the next day I went back to the store to return them, and then I was told I could not get my money back. I called the corporate number, the same woman answered and again refused, as did her manager. She admitted that she did not specify that I could not get my money back and apologized but refused to issue the refund. You might expect this kind of poor customer service from a Dollar Store or Big Lots, but not from a high-end boutique owned by Nikki Hilton. This is just one more reason why chains like Zappos are replacing brick and mortar shops - at least they are honest about their policies, let you try on shoes at home, and make it easy to return them (for a refund). It's surprising and disappointing that French Soles is this stingy and dishonest with its customers who are paying $200+ for a pair of shoes that aren't even comfortable. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. In this case, you get far less than what you pay for. Sadly, this striking disconnect will likely end in the closure of their two remaining stores.
