Today I went to my grandparents and my aunt grave at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Affton, Missouri and got really upset. I have been going to their graves since 1970 when my grandfather died and every year I have gone to lay flowers on his grave, do some weeding around the headstone of his, my grandmother who died in 1980 and then also my aunt who died in 1995. I get to the cemetery four to five times per year either by myself or with my wife. My siblings and my cousins usually go twice a year Christmas and on my grandparents birthday/day of the burial Today I went to the cemetery and could not find the grave stone. I was not lost because I knew what row, what section and which headstones close by BUT could not find it because the grass has completely grown over three full rows of flat headstones. I went to the office and asked if they could help me find the grave. I was told here is a map, I told them I don't need a map. Why are all the flat headstone not trimmed around like the upright tombstones. The cemetery was a perpetual care for decades. Today I was told that it is up to the families to take care of the graves. No one ever let us know this, even two years ago I was told that I could not weed or even use a natural weed or grass killer on the outside of the headstone. I even asked them if they could go out and find the tombstone and clear off the grass and they told me NO. I would not want anyone to do a burial at this cemetery. It is Amazing that the August Busch Family (From Anheuser Busch) graves and grotto is in the cemetery. All the time all the flat stones and uprights are always in perfect condition and I doubt the Busch family comes out and have to trim the graves.

I was there for Another burial. MASSIVE CEMETERY! The grounds seemed decent, the staff assisted us well and were respectful of our group, and the other burial sites. I never interacted with any of the Cemetary staff, except to say 'Thank you' when parking / Driving to Our specific Burial plot.

Never choose to bury anything here. Not even a cherished pet goldfish deserves this hell of a resting place. I never knew cemetery staff could be rude until I met the humans that work here. They have zero intentions to support your grieving process. Also, absolutely absurdity is that they have miscellaneous charges for things like leaving wreaths. Which I also didn't was an option to charge for. Spare your loved ones the hassle, and do not select this as your final resting place.

You'll need to call them at this point. They have a program where they will purchase the wreath and put on graveside for $38. They send put letters in late October.
I don't think so. There is one guy that does it and he works during the week. You can call and ask though. They may make exceptions.
