I have been taking my dogs to Benji's/ Pawville under both management teams and my babies have loved both. I do love the newly discovered Pawville online portal with daily report cards complete with pictures and staff comments. They just made my day!

BEWARE! Do NOT bring your pet here unless you want inferior conditions and incompetent staff!!!! They are now under new “management “ since the previous owner passed away. They are no longer locally owned and are now part of a large franchise of pet resorts. They should not even be open while “under renovations” that aren’t obvious except that it’s empty, dirty, with a dustpan, broom and mop bucket greeting you when you walk inside. There is nothing in the whole front room other than a few dog toys hanging up. I was mortified at the incompetence and cluelessness of the staff at the front desk when I dropped off my dog this past week. It was obvious that she didn’t know what was going on, and that whoever took my reservation the week before did not make one. There was a complete disconnect! If I had not had an urgent appointment in Charleston, I wouldn’t have left her but had to go. I gave her a bag marked with my dog’s name and reiterated that her food and treats were in the bag and that she hadn’t eaten snd needed to be fed. I felt incredibly uneasy as I was traveling, and four hours after leaving my dog, I canceled all my!plans and called to let them know I would be picking my dog up later that day. I was a nervous wreck till I could get back. When I got back, the place was desolate. When I complained that no one apparently made my reservation and questioned everything in there, then asked her to please just get my dog, she continued to be unbelievably defensive about the facility and the front desk staff member who had been there that morning. She didn’t seem to know what was going on either and said that I “needed to be more patient because she was new and learning” - but when the welfare of my pet was at stake, I couldn’t overlook what’s going on in there. They don’t have a clue The person who identified herself as the “manager” at the front desk was incredibly rude to ME, yet kept repetitively saying that I was being rude! As she left the desk to get my dog (because her calls to the back went unnoticed), I picked up the bag over the front desk that appeared to have never been touched since I had left it that morning. When I mentioned that the bag did not look moved from that morning and had questioned whether my dog had been fed or not, she had remarked that they always bring whatever was in the back to the front when you pick up your pet. But I told her it didn’t look touched. And when she went to get my dog, I opened the bag and the food that was marked for that morning was still inside and untouched. Trying to communicate or reason with this person was impossible. I was horrified! When I confronted this “manager” about this, all she could continue to do was tell me I was being rude and I needed to be more understanding if the new ownership and conditions, even after I pointed out that my dog could been there all day and had not been fed, There were clear instructions in the bag if they had bothered to open it! I could not get out of there fast enough! It’s so sad because when Miss Charlotte, the former owner, was alive, it was a wonderful, loving, competent place. No more! RUN! Find another facility!

We know our favorite child (the other kids know) is well taken care of here at Benji's/Pawville. We board Max here every time we vacation in Pawleys.

Benji's was sold to Pawville but they are operating under Benji's name during the season and they will remodel in the Fall. We used Benji's/Pawville in June 2022 and somehow it was even better than before! Excellent staff, we always board our pup here when vacationing in Pawleys.
