Went here a few days ago and got a beautiful adult cat! The shelter was clean & easy to go thru. They didnt hover or push for an adoption simply explained the rooms and let you view at your own pace! Highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to adopt!

Friendly staff. Their gift store is stocked and has great prices.

We love going to the Kitty Cottage and petting all the kitties! Very clean, well-run, friendly shelter. Highly recommend adopting from here.

This place is amazing. They care about the animals and take good care of them. I just got the cutest cattle mix breed they rescued from the side of the road with her brother Gianni. I wish we could have taken him too but I only have room for one and she stole my heart. Highly recommend this place. Adoption process was fast and I spent 300 dollars. I almost spent 5 grand at petland lake Saint Louis for a sick dog. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for animals that are healthy and happy. Thanks 5 acres. Oreo is the perfect addition to our family and we love her so much already!!! ❤️

i have 4 kittens whose mother is tuxedo but only one has the tuxedo 'features'
They have kept giving me the run around...i honestly think because of their age sge dont want to deal with it...i tried right after adopting too and she just kept coming up witb one thing after another and then finally told me i had permission to give them to someone
only no-kill in Saint Charles county
They are a shelter...the animals they have change CONSTANTLY.. You have to call or stop by of you are looking for a specific kind
Call them and keep checking
We don't use them for the dogs because they are dangerous for them. We do have a clothing recycling bin that you are welcome to use. We just ask that they are in a bag.
No. I have to move. I have to be out By July 1.
I know they will have 2 kittens currently as I was just there Saturday. I do not know the price however.
Always, you can fill a volunteer application on the 5 Acres website Fiveacresanimalshelter.org Someone will contact you and set up an orientation time
They charge a fee that pays for their care, shelter and also people tend to take better care when they pay for something. They never euthanize, good company to rescue
No but you can fill out a surrender form online and see if they'll take your pet. There is a fee to surrender the pet though. I'd submit an application and try for other shelters just in case they don't have the space. Check out APAmo if you can.
As far as I know they only have dogs and cats. They are a shelter so they would only have animals that need rescued.
Not at the present time. Sorry
I did, but weird thing is sometimes the dogs were at different locations so I was just wondering if I can walk in 5 Acres and meet the dogs for adoption? or do I need an appointment? what is the adoption fees?
They are super helpful!
Cynthia - you may complete an owner surrender form through our website: www.fiveacresanimalshelter.org. Once that is completed someone from the canine team will contact you. Thank you Five Acres Canine Team
I pretty sure you have to be 13 to volunteer with an adult and when you hit 16 you can go independently
Call Five Acres. If they can't help you, they can give you guidance. Good luck. Saying prayers for your friend.
You may view our currently available dogs through www.fiveacresanimalshelter.org or petfinder.com or by visiting the shelter Tues-Sat from 2-6 or Sun from 12-4. Thank you Steve
Alex, please contact the shelter and speak with Dana or Niki to receive accurate adoption fees and get information about our adoption process. Thank you Steve Brooks Executive Director
Unfortunately this probably is not the place to ask this question. I would call your local vet and have Raja checked out, being that old they might be on the way out.
Must be 18 or have a parent present
Call them directly
Call to verify or stop in and chatt you will still need to go through a short class
Contact the feline manager Dana. She is very nice. If they have room, they should be able to take her.
$150 to $200
Yes, you should be able to..
For the kittens, they won't let you just play with them... too many germs.
Yes they do.
I'm not sure! But there's always at least one person there and they could definitely tell you!!
Under 16 must be accompanied by a parent. My daughter volunteered at 13.
With a parent it is younger than 16
I am more of a dog person but they do have kitties...
Go to web site they have pics of the dogs waiting for new homes.
You'll have to contact the shelter directly or visit them. And if you adopt a cat that isn't declawed and plan on doing so, they may not let you adopt. That is a question that is asked on the form.
call and see if they have room
Call and ask if they ha e room. They are very friendly and treat the animals wonderfully.
They are an amazing place but for adopting pets..
Yoy can visit Five Acres animal shelter every day but Monday. They have kittens available for adoption.
I didn't see any when I was there last but it all depends on what dogs are rescued.
I am have a friend from work that they are looking for adult one of the huskey is it a adults is it still there
They do. Stop by and see variety of dogs. Let staff know what you are looking for in a friend and they can help. Good luck.
Sorry about your loss :(. And yeah they take them.
You have call or stop by
Call them and ask the best way to proceed
You should call the shelter, they could answer.

Look for a long haired dog. They generally don't shed; although they require grooming.
