I attended this restaurant with my sister and her friend and I have to say the atmosphere was all right but we can tell we were being judge and did not feel welcomed as black people in an Asian restaurant I feel as though they expected us to not have money we ordered sake we ordered expensive drinks it was only a three drink limit our waiter wasn’t very attentive Also there was a lot of things we couldn’t order and when we asked Our waiter she claimed that they couldn’t get access to them because of Covid and she kind of seemed like she was ready for us to leave we were really the only ones in the restaurant we weren’t too loud. When we went to the bar the bartender basically hid from us and ignored us and we had to wait on her actual waiter to pour us drinks and she didn’t even know how to make the drinks that we requested because the bartender refused to serve us making us feel even more than welcomed we still were able to enjoy ourselves the food was really The only thing that saved the restaurant I will say they take pride in their food.

I’ve been meaning to write a review here for months because I’m pretty sure I’ve ordered from here about 20 times or more in the past year. They are so good, the first time I came was pre-covid and we sat down and ordered sushi for two. This was perfect, our service was fast and I remember it was delicious. Since covid, we’ve been ordering takeout (especially the maki lunch specials because they’re so affordable for the quality!) and we haven’t had a bad experience in the many many times we have gotten food from here. Masa is the best sushi restaurant in York, hands down. It is my absolute favorite, especially because the servers are so nice! And their Covid precautions are great, basically no-contact takeout. I will probably never stop coming here.
