I always have a good experience when I go first thing in the morning. It helps when they open on time. Always have your ID with you and SS card. Makes things a lot smoother. I wish the people on the phone and the email system and fax system were all connected because I have to inform them and THEN they find it, otherwise it’s considered missing and I’m penalized. Not everyone is that savvy so I hope they get that aspect together. Security can be rude but just wear your mask inside

If you go to the place and do it and weight you can get your card in 3 hours
Go down there
Call the Facility and let them know what's going on,And that's sad because these people are getting away with no doing their jobs
Call Springfield
Continue to call or go down there as Damon Cotton said. Very unorganized and lacking a lit of discipline, so you will run into a lot of bs! Just be ready and prepared! Good luck!
They very rarely answer the phone due to the high volume of callers. I've never been able to get anyone on the phone. Your best bet is to try to find a way up there. Which is unfortunate, but once you get there you can request a phone interview for most services. Just hope they don't do you the way they did me and call you for your phone interview only to send you a letter the next week saying you missed it. Good luck. The service is absolutely horrible there.

Family Services in East St Louis
This isn't direct communication with DHS. You must contact your case worker or go into the office.
Not for the East Saint Louis office. You will be on hold for hours if you call the main line. And if you do get ahold of anyone, chances of them being able to help you are very slim. I've been in this office twice, wasted 8 hours of my time sitting there, filled out all my required paperwork and turned in everything that was asked of me, and was set up with a phone interview. Long story short, they called and I answered, but they still sent me a letter in the mail saying I missed my appointment and now they want me to go back and wait in line again after I have already done so twice. This place is a nightmare and I'm highly convinced that no one there is doing their job. Springfield office sounds like your best bet. Good luck.
However the reason why your SNAP Benefits didn't go through is because of your lack of response back to them to recertify on time. So you may have to go back to them to recertify again. Also it's a greater chance that you may had a change of income and forgot to report it.
Yes, Benefits can be cancelled online! If you created an online account and was issued a PIN to access your Case information. Simply login and tab through options to cancel or change address. Or you may call the 800 number, select the option to change your address then you will be placed on hold to speak with a live representative. This can be time consuming depending upon where you are in the cue, but a live person will eventually speak with you. Complete tge cancellation by the 10th of the month. In either case, you will receive written correspondences by U.S. Postal mail at your new address. If requested to do anything, follow directions provided in the letter. If you are applying for benefits in your new state, you will need to give your new case worker the cancellation letter from Illinois. Good Luck
