Workers arrived on time and did a very careful and thorough job. They cleaned up afterward and instructed me as to the operation of the new system. I would recommend Yard for all hvac needs.

George Yard is very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable! He answered all of my questions and was never rude! Then there is the workers….. It’s not often you get a good sales guy AND good workers, but with Yard Heating and Cooling I got BOTH! Levi and Gunnar did an outstanding job. My project was a messy and tedious 4 day job, and every evening before leaving they cleaned my home very well! They also maintained consistent professionalism and took pride in their work, which seems rare in the Springfield area. Last but not least… they were careful around my curious cats 🐈 😀 I am very pleased with this company!

I needed a new furnace (with air cleaner and household humidifier), and A/C. After conducting a fair amount of research - I decided on a Trane. My next decision was who would I trust to install this. During my search, I kept coming across Yard Heating & Cooling. I asked this company to come over and give me an estimate. Mr. George Yard did come over and spent a great deal of time to talk about what I needed. I really feel that Mr. Yard gave me "old fashion" customer service... and I truly appreciate that. In one week - I had it all installed. I should also let you know that the three men who installed everything worked very hard. I was very impressed. No slackers at Yard Heating and Cooling. In the two weeks I've had the new furnace and AC, I can tell you it has been wonderful! A quiet system. Also, I am so very happy I got the whole house air cleaner, I can tell the difference!

Yes, we do.
Our hours are 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, M-F and Sat 8:00 am - 12:00 pm . We do not currently offer 24/7/365 emergency services
To keep your HVAC system running in tip-top shape, we recommend a maintenance appointment twice a year (once for heat, once for air conditioning). This way we can check your filters, coils, wiring, housing, motor, and more to make sure you’re getting the most out of your system.
For optimum efficiency and filtration, we recommend that you replace your disposable filters at least once a month. If you have washable filters, they should be cleaned once a month.
Having an HVAC system with a thermostat that allows you schedule your heating and cooling needs to line up with your work/school schedule is the best way to ensure your unit isn't running when it's not needed, saving you money long term.
Different programmable thermostats offer many different features. However, because they are electronic, they are all more accurate and efficient than thermostats that contain mercury. With programmable thermostats you can control the temperature in your home at different times of day without ever touching your thermostat. Because everything is automatic, you will never forget to change the setting on your own.
If your HVAC system requires constant repairs, is 15 years or older, or can’t heat or cool your home properly, we recommend you replace it. When an HVAC system ages, it doesn’t operate as efficiently and could actually end up costing you more money than it should.
There are many recommendation we can make, but the recommendations we make vary ona case by case basis depending on an individual home or businesses needs. Give us a call so we can discuss in further detail.
No. A larger system with more capacity delivers less comfort and costs more to operate. An air conditioner is at its least efficient when first turning on. A system with too much capacity will run in numerous short cycles, turning on and off repeatedly, therefore causing it to be less efficient. Also keep in mind that an air conditioner only removes humidity when it’s running, so a system with shorter run cycles doesn’t remove humidity from the air very well.
The heating and cooling systems are sized according to their tonnage. One (1) ton equals 12,000 BTU/H. Residential systems can range from 1 to 5 tons.
