Old school gunsmith, this guy knows his firearms thru and thru. Give them a chance to earn your confidence. There are not many places like this left in our country, please visit them if possible?

Brought in a practically brand new rifle with less then 50 rounds through it that I had stuck a coated Dewey cleaning cleaning rod into. After trying to force it through with a hammer to a degree it started to bend the cleaning rod handle, I decided it was best left to the professionals; unfortunately made the mistake of taking it here to be removed. Admittedly it was a tough situation but I hoped that instead of pulling the barrel and buying a new one, I could have a gunsmith get it out without any further damage. They ended up drilling the jag which, was a parker hale style, and while drilling the jag their drill bit clearly hit the rifling and completely removed one section of the rifling. I called the day after I picked it up to mention the damage from where they drilled it, the lady who answered the phone was very cordial and told me to bring it in. 5 minutes later I received a call back from the "gunsmith" who completed the work and said that there was no point in me bringing it back because I was the "idiot" who got the cleaning rod stuck. When I told him I had borescope pictures of the damage he told me he didn't care and that I should shove them up my backside. Now instead of them saving the barrel, I am out $100 for them removing the cleaning rod and am left with a ruined barrel. Definitely learned my lesson about using a hammer on cleaning rods in the future. Additionally should I require any gunsmith services this is one place I would completely avoid since not only do they appear to be incompetent, but if they do damage your firearm they will just tell you off instead of attempting to address the issue. Im sure the "gunsmith" will be addressing this complaint as his response when I told him I would be leaving a review was that he was going to post pictures of the cleaning rod so everyone could so how much of an "idiot" I was. Editing to include a picture of the jag so everyone can see that it was clearly drilled. Edit on 11/10/20- I sent the rifle in to CZ to see if they would replace the barrel and here is their verbatim response: "We have examined your firearm here and determined that there was an obstruction in the barrel which was then mostly drilled out, and this caused the bore to become badly damaged. Based on the borescope inspection, there are remains of an obstruction approximately 1 inch from the muzzle, and a clear path of a drill bit which “walked” to contact the rifling."

Do you do repair work on Benjamin pellet guns? I have a 397 PA and the bolt does not work. I can pull it back to load a pellet but it will not go back in.
