We made a quick stop to this state park while in Cedar Key. The museum felt like a step back in time...70's. 🤔. The display cases provided a look at the many shells found in Florida, some of Florida's history as it relates to the Cedar Key area, and a building on site which was not open due to construction of a ramp...soon to be a teaching location with rooms to view of the historical house. The park ranger was friendly and the building was clean, but dated.

Entrance Fee: $2 per person. Plan on an hour (long time) inside the museum and 15 minutes to walk around the property. The nature trail can add another 30 minutes. Nice place to take a break and learn some history about the area. Has flushing toilets (that's important to some people!)

The grounds the museum is on are awesome and beautiful alone. The museum is a interesting educational bonus. Pack a picnic even bring a fishing pole as the property leads to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico

The staff was very helpful. The museum is very informative and it has alot of history there. The Wilson home from 1920 has been kept in really good condition. This is a must see if visiting Cedar Key. Entrance is only $2.00
