I've been reading reviews before deciding whether I should go to my local Elizabeth City office again. It was a horrible experience last time i visited. Looks to me like I'll go to Hertford or Moyock though upon reading thier reviews. EC office seems to be a miserable place still. I'd drive 2 hours before I'd go back to EC office based on my last visit and the reviews.

The worst service of any license plate agency I’ve been to. Not to mention getting scolded for not wearing a mask when this is literally the only place In 1 year I’ve seen wanting you to wear one. The state needs to do something about this hole in it the wall

Took care of everything we needed to have done for our title for the refinance of our car.

Yes
It's best to call the DMV in Raleigh and speak with someone. They're very friendly and give you all the answers you need. They take their time with you. That way you're prepared when you get to Elizabeth City. It doesn't change the bad attitude and poor service but at least you won't have to go back and deal with it a second time.
Walk in
No appointment is necessary. You still just walk in anytime. You do have to wait in line both outside and inside. Recommend not going at 0900 because the line is very long.
They are not open on weekend
All you need to do is fill out a simple request at the license plate division. They'll even help you through it
Make sure your car has an inspection, bring your insurance information and car registration or info. Also, bring your tax statement and you should be good
Cash debit or credit except notary fees which are cash or check only
I don't think they are.
No open Monday at 9am
As long as it is NC it shouldn't, I think. You can go online and renew as well. It will allow you to print out that you renewed un til you get the new stickers.
