My family went here today after an event at Great Lakes Naval Station. My wife had been there before, but the rest of us had not. I love genuine slow cooked barbecue and all the fixins. The food was on point! We got a combo dinner with burnt ends and the pulled chicken, collard greens, mac-n-cheese, the catfish dinner with collard greens and mac-n-cheese with bbq meat in it, and a side of fries. All of the food was delicious and the meats were barbecued right. There are a number of different sauces to try on the table and they did not disappoint. I have eaten barbecue all over the country - the Carolinas, Kansas City, Texas, Georgia, Virginia, and more, and this place was among the best I’ve eaten. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to try barbecue.

We traveled from Dallas to Chicago to visit family. They drove almost 2 hours to get to this delicious establishment. The food is great! We ordered a little of everything. Literally. They were out of Rib Tips which simply tells me that they are great too. You must order the Burnt Ends, Smoked Sausage, Red Skinned Mashed Potatoes, Baked Beans and the Pound Cake. I didn't eat anything bad but the above listed items are worth flying back for. Now simply because I am Texas Born and Bred..... Texas is still king of the BRISKET GAME!!!! ♥️

1st time at Big Ed's BBQ... these ribs are da best dam ribs iv ever had... next to mine if course... But like an idiot I ordered a half slab... by the time I was done I was ordering another half slab... NEVER EVER ORDER ONLY A HALF SLAB.... gotta...gotta do full slab... and their sauce is amazing... will definitely go back again........

Yes they do! I believe Monday's are closed though so you won't make the trip to find out there closed but carryout yes they do have and you can call in your order if your in a hurry!
I would definately call they are extremely helpful and employees seem very knowledgeable about the business anyone eorking when you xall will probably know if they will offer that .

Burnt end are very meaty all the serving are great about the rest of your question I don't know but Big Ed's is the man you have to go n try for yourself.
The burnt ends and ribs wouldn't have any gluten since they are just neat.
Love the ribs and they have several sauces in the table you can put on them.
