Very nice park. Has a nice beach, playgrounds, modern bathrooms, good boat landing, and well kept camping spots. Wish the boat parking was defined instead of a big open space since it got chaotic when it was busy.

I stayed 3 nights and 4 days at the Blue Huron yurt in the middle of March... what a dreamy place!! Since it was winter, it was very quiet and few people (exactly what my soul needed). The weather was just right to take in several miles on cross country ski. The trails were well groomed and maintained by the park and another local agency. The trails heads were well marked well, but were difficult to figure out which direction to go at intersections... there is just a map saying "you are here" with no indicators of which trail leads where. I ended up zooming in on Google Maps to see where I was at and which way to go. Nevertheless, the sunny winter weather made for a wonderful time traversing the woodlands via skis. 10/10 would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a solo winter escape.

Rented the Loon Cabin for a weekend. Full bath, kitchen. Was a cozy stay with the gas fireplace, and plenty of trails and sled hill! Will stay again.

Excellent pull through sites with good amount of trees between sites for a bit of privacy. Showers were clean and hot - nicer than most state parks. Worth a visit!!

Can you bring your own fire wood into thepark

LuAnn Davis | Jun 25, 2018
Kelly Barbot | Jun 26, 2018

Yes, but we ask that you keep out-of-state firewood at home. Firewood from another state may contain Emerald Ash Borer, which could be harmful to trees in this state. Firewood may be purchased at the park.
