My family and I have all been patients of Dr. Lukenda for several years and have always had a positive experience with him or any of his staff. We recently had my 74 year old mother seen in his office on a non-life threatening emergency basis and she was treated with complete patience and compassion by Dr. Lukenda. He and his associates have gone above and beyond anytime one of us has needed to be seen rather quickly and have always received detailed and accurate care with consistent communication and follow up. I highly recommend this office for anyone looking for excellent medical care.

Dr. Colombo has been great but this office has a horrible administrative staff- I have never heard of receptionists treating patients as poorly as they have to my wife today. They are disorganized, have made repeated clerical and scheduling errors this year, and are disrespectful and incapable of owning their mistakes. Reception today brought my wife to tears who was just asking for information on OTC medicine for me to pick up for her as she has the flu with other medical conditions that require us to be careful of our purchases. After providing the doctor with the wrong phone number for a third time to complete a teledoc call, they kept my sick wife going back and forth four hours, being respectful and lying repeatedly, and their solution at the end of the day was to intentionally keep her on hold for an hour until the office closed to be malicious. They even had the nerve to say before hanging up that the doctor had a life outside of helping my wife and she needed to wait as the doctor would call her shortly which she of course did not. Super disappointed at the inhumane and unprofessional treatment by their staff. It is actually sickening.

I personally love Dr Colombo. However, one time due to an administrative error (I got a new phone number, told them about it but nobody updated it in my file so I had no clue I needed to come in to be seen for my refill, I was getting automatic refills since before the pandemic and it's a medicine I have been taking for 8 years), and I needed to be seen ASAP. They only had an opening the next day for Dr Lukenda. He kept telling me it was my fault that my rx wasn't refilled because I haven't been in since 2019 (so then how was my rx getting refilled?). While I disagree with him, I could see where he was coming from. I told him I was pregnant and he gave me a list of OB's in the area. I chose one from that list. He scheduled a 3 month follow up. On the day of the 3 month follow up, he made me feel ashamed for having to take my rx during my pregnancy (anxiety medication) even though my OB AND the perinatal group *insisted* that I take my regular dose. He said "well, no medicine is the best medicine, but if you can't handle your anxiety then it's a risk you have to take." I found that to be condescending because I felt like he was saying I wasn't mentally strong enough and therefore had to risk the health of my baby. He then said that my OB was exaggerating with what physical activity I could do during my pregnancy. I had a bit of a scare a week prior because I wasn't resting enough. The OB said that little activities I took for granted like unloading the dishwasher and carrying laundry down the stairs could be dangerous and I shouldn't do that. Dr Lukenda blatantly said she was wrong. He also talked over me CONSTANTLY. Anyway, I asked him to prescribe me a prenatal vitamin. Which he did...except it was for a vitamin that has been discontinued. I would be infinitely more patient with that if he hadn't acted like he knows more than the OB and the perinatal doctor. My pharmacy faxed NJ Family Medical multiple times, and I was on the phone with the office when they received a fax from the pharmacy. That appointment was on 8/24, it's 9/7 and the pharmacy still has not heard back from him. I had to call and follow up (for a second time) to ensure my prenatal was going to get refilled. I feel as though if I didn't follow up twice, I nothing would be done. Anyway, my next appointment is with Dr Colombo and I'm very happy about that. ***UPDATE: At around 4:00pm today (9/8) I was finally given a new prescription for prenatal vitamins.....except it costs $460. I don't want to assume the worst, but I feel like he was annoyed at me and to "stick it to me" he prescribed the most expensive one. I assume this because this happened the very next day after I left the initial review. I can't confirm this, but I wouldn't put it past him at this point given how small and belittled he has made me feel in just two appointments. I feel like I wasted two weeks of my time worrying about this when I could have just gotten OTC (selfishly, I was doing it out of principle because I cannot believe he said the specialists were wrong only to prescribe a discontinued vitamin). Here's hoping my insurance can help with this one.

The doctors are great the staff is horrendous. Called 10 times to return my doctor's call and was hung up on twice by the front desk staff. The other 8 times the calls went unanswered. Unbelievable!
